I need a shorter stock for my A-bolt but don't want to shorten the factory stock. Does anyone know how I might go about finding a drop-in stock with a shorter pull?

Bell and Carlson is the only major manufacturer I know of that offers a replacement stock for the A-Bolt. I've wanted a thumbhole stock for my short action A-Bolt since I got it, but I've never been able to find one. You might look on E-Bay to see if there are any factory take-off's

I know where you can get a thumbhole for your short action abolt..... I just bought 2 thumbhole stocks for my long actions..... sent you a pm about my stocks, if interested let me know,

as for the Short action abolt thumbhole, they dont get any nicer than this! Take a look, I have bought 5 of these thumbholes over the years, you cant get them anymore only the ones someone has in stock, Boyds stop making them for the browning line 4 or 5 yrs ago. This is a damn good deal, I just dont have any Short action brownings or it would already be sitting in my safe on a rifle.... If you scroll through his sales you will see that I purchased 2 Long Actions from him in the last 60 days, they are beautiful pieces. Direct drop in, and ready to go!

When they say "unfinished" what exactly does that mean? Will the stock have to be inletted to allow the action to mate, is the exterior not finished/sealed?????

Dlallder-I sent you a PM about a shorter A-Bolt Stock that I have..

if it matters - I can say that my A-bolt absolutely came alive after switching to the Bell and Carlson. It is now a tack driver with a much smoother action than with the factory stock.

Mrfishaholic was your stock already finished and ready to drop in. Did you spray on the clear coat? I noticed some of the stocks are $119 and some are $109.
