I'm thinking of getting the Browning BLR w/pistol grip in .243 Win. and either 7mm Rem. Mag. or .300 Win. Mag..
I've never shot the Browning BLR, but love the lever action guns. I'm sure it will perform fine in the .243, right?
What's your opinion about the Browning BLR lasting firing the Magnum calibers?
All opinions are welcome.

I shoot bolt actions myself, but I have 2 friends who have the BLR in 308. They both love them and wouldn't trade them for anything.

the browning BLR lightning, quite possibly the ugliest rifle ever made.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Thank you for your opinions.
Anyone else have an opinion? Maybe something actually related to the quality of the rifle?

The BLR is essentially a bolt action internally, and a lever action externally. It is a very strong lock up and quite capable with the magnums. Browning would not produce it if it couldn't handle them. I have a BLR w/pistol grip chambered for .358 Win. I do hate the glossy finish, but intend to remedy that at some point. I would recommend sticking to the short action rounds though, simply because the lever travel will be faster and easier than the long action cartridge chamberings. This gun is light and handy. The action is also very smooth off the shelf. The only arguments I have ever heard against the BLR are purely emotional in nature. So if the BLR configuration floats your boat, then have at it. If I were going for a magnum, my preference would be the .325 WSM, but I am partial to mid and big bores .

If you were close I was gonna ask if I could meet you somewhere and shoot that .243 BLR a few times to see how it shoots.

You'd be more than welcome to but I don't have any plans to be in your area any time soon.

Thank you.
I'll find one sooner or later that I can try out.
And if I don't, I'll just buy one anyway (as soon as I'm done saving) and try my own.
