New to turkey hunting and need some good advise. I'll be shooting a Remington 870 super magnum that can shoot 3 1/2" shells and takes screw in chokes. Give me some choke brands that are preferred by you expert turkey hunters and what brand, length, and shot size that's effective for the gun I'll be hunting with. Any info. Will be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Lead: Winchester Longbeard XR #6 and TruLock choke developed specifically for this load.
HTL: Federal Heavyweight #7 and TruLock choke developed specifically for this load.
Make sure to shoot some practice shots to make sure you're POA and POI are the same and you're pattern is dense and even.

Where might a person find these chokes? Local retail or online only? Thanks for the info.

I've had that same shotgun for over 25 years and killed a bunch of Tom's with the factory tubes and the old rem duplex loads 2x4's now 2x6's, have also used 4,5's and 6's with full choke. They will all get the job done if you get the rest of turkey hunting down.
I enjoy calling them in close, or figuring out how to get a hung up bird to change his mind, so 50 yard shots arent in my vocabulary turkey hunting. I will do 40 yards if the terrain dictates it, but really enjoy getting them into close range for the thrill.
Without a doubt, as Gamblinman said, pattern your load on paper, or cardboard at 20 and 30 yards minimum and use the gun as you will use in the field (choke in). I found in the old days with the duplex 2x4's, they shot better with the modified choke in my 870 where my benelli cordoba is deadly at 50 yards with their cryo full choke with as little as 5's.
If at first you dont succeed, then skydiving is not for you..
