After shooting a few jugs of water,,,Ya I know its not the same !!!
I have a sneaky suspicion these 73 ELD match especially in a 20 inch AR-15,,, are going to put a world of hurt on average to small hogs ! Any one hear willing to take a few of my rounds out and give them a try on hogs ?
Some one that is free to hunt about any time they want?
Damn i just gotta know before i shoot them all up on prairie dogs !

I guess not everyone is free to hunt anytime they want haha or better yet not everyone has a place to hunt whenever they want !

Shooting the reloads of a stranger is a very risky thing.

Shooting the reloads of a stranger is a very risky thing. Yep i understand that one ! By the way these are 1.5 grains under max . Not only that , i have proofed the load in my own ARs ,,,DD,16" 7 twist, M&P 16" 9 twist, and Eagle Arms 20" 9 twist and no pressure signs of any kind.

I had a similar thought about Hornady 75gr BTHP's, but the performance just wasn't there on live game. Expansion was too violent leading to lack of penetration.

KC and DallasShootingSupplies on here sure have touted the 75gr A-max from ARs for hogs. The only 22cal bullets I remember using on hogs are 60gr partition, 55gr Trophy Bonded and 75gr Swift Sirocco.
Have no doubt others will work but those 3 are good to go
Don't think the Trophy Bonded are available any more but the 64gr Nosler Bonded core is about the same only heavier.
lf the saying "Liar, Liar your pants on fire" were true Mainstream news might be fun to watch

I've had great success using factory 62gr Fusions. I think this is Federals copy of the speer gold dot 64 grain law enforcement ammo ! I have heard great things about this ammo and the fusion is prob just as good !

I've had excellent results with the Sierra 65g GameKing, loaded to 5.56 pressures. (Most of my shooting is short range, < 120yds)

I had exactly the opposite experience with the 75 grain Hornady Match BTHP with cannelure. Bullet penetrated very well except wound channel was not all that wide. Still my go to bullet for the AR though for head and neck hits.

In my magazines the 75 grain AMAX is too long, the ogive ends inside the neck. There may be magazines out there somewhere that the AMAX will work in but I don't have any.

I use a metal mag when I use the 75gr AMAX loaded to 5.56 pressures. It's the most accurate bullet out of my ARP 223 Wylde 5R 1/8 twist barrels and shoots tiny 1 hole groups at 100 yards. Don't shoot pigs with them though, that goes to the 70gr TSX when I use a 223 which isn't often. I have a pair of 6.8s with ARP barrels and NV for that.

You can even ask Hornady 800-338-3220 dont take my word for it ! ,,,, you can not seat the 75 grain A MAX to fit AR-15 mags

I think it only worked for a few rounds. I wish I could remember where I saw it.

LOL a CNS shot on a pig and dang near anything will work - I have 2 kills with a 17hmr on 100+ lb pigs @80plus yards . & people have been using 22mag for a long time. And along the same line have lost a few Big pigs with Body shots off a .308 & 30-06 it really counts where you hit them. Have skinned out a pig and found a perfect bullet splashed under the shoulder all healed over except for scar tissue.
