In the pics above I was starblazer 27 with the 61st assault helicopter company. Later I flew for the black angels 101st aviation battalion

LZ English in 1967 when the First Cavalry Division was there.

I was flying all over country in C-123's trying to stay out of you guys way so we could bring you food and other things.

You did a good job.....I flew a low cap on C-123 agent orange sprays. If they took fire we would engage. Used to love watching you guys kick in the jatos on takeoff

Yes and was a flight instructor there inbetween tours

I grew up in Throckmorton. I clearly remember seeing the training helicopters passing nearby quite often. One time a trainer had mechanical difficulty and was forced to land on the football training field across from my house. That drew a crowd.

No really, thanks for your service! My dads boss was an F-4 driver and took almost a tours worth of pics of close surface to ground missiles coming at them and such things only to find he failed to load film in the camera. His rio was a little chapped when he found out...

Great picture Bob. Thanks for being there for those on the ground. I also was helping train the carrier base pilots during these times (A4, F4, AD1, A7, EA6, Cods and Super Fuds, etc).
