Came across some pics i took from choppers i flew. Thought some of you younger guys would enjoy. The left is me squeezing off rocket at a 12.7 (50 cal). Top right 12.7 coming back at me... Bottom right I was helping out flying some slicks and we picked up some vC. The one bent over was just jabbed with a rifle butt for trying to get my grease gun. I was 19 years old

Actually didn't avoid the 12.7....he put a couple of rounds in the tail boom. But hit him shortly after with fleshette rockets

I remember some of my dads friends visiting after they came home from Nam....one gave me a cap and web gear.....I was 6 or 7.....born in '65.....

Growing up I knew a couple of pilots with the 1st Cav.....Robert (Bob) Hankins flew three tours....then was hit by a drunk driver....lost his lower left leg and almost his life.....great guy....
