I am interested in those suits and how they come out. I'm not a patent/copyright/trademark lawyer, but it seems to me Yeti has the better side in those cases. The other products look like mirror images of the Yeti products.

$122 for the 45 quart. I doubt they'll last long at that price

When they announced the free shipping super sale I figured this was coming. Felt like an inventory liquidation strategy. From the buzz around here, it worked.

The other products look like mirror images of the Yeti products. I have 5 working patents, 1 design and 4 utility and the only one I've had to defend was the design patent which are too easy to get around. Looks like the knock off's didn't even try to change the design and got hammered. Good for Yeti! Since the concept of vacuum sealing has been around for decades I suspect all they have is a Design patent. Change the design, prove it offers something that Yeti doesn't and their good to go. They still have to pay damages for the infringement but considering the market it may not hurt that much.

Sounds like bidness as usual This is off RTIC web site. RTIC IS VERY PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE AN AGREEMENT REACHED WITH YETI RTIC, the leading direct to consumer online retailer of premium coolers and drinkware announces that it has entered into a settlement agreement with YETI today for the purpose of avoiding the additional costs and uncertainty of continued litigation. The dispute has been amicably resolved and as part of the agreement, RTIC has agreed to redesign only those products involved in the dispute. As part of the Agreement, RTIC is precluded from commenting further, but RTIC is very pleased with the settlement and considers it a win. RTIC had previously announced last month changes to its 2017 product lines and expects to rollout new products and updated existing products starting in early Spring. RTIC will continue to operate as normal selling all the RTIC brand of products as provided on the www.RTICcoolers.com website keeping true to its promise to deliver "Over Built Not Over Priced" products to all its RTIC fans & customers.

I read Yeti's pleadings a couple months ago and from what I recall their main complaints were that Rtic had copied the design and the trade dress. To my understanding trade dress is just the packaging and outward appearance of the product. Yeti's got a pretty distinctive outside design, change that and Rtic should be okay without actually having to change how its insulated.

Just ordered a Tan 45. $132 out the door! Got an order confirmation. They've already created a Tracking # so looks like they are still selling right now.

I bought 3 of the 45's from Cabela's this morning. Was worried the whole time some manager would walk up and say they are not allowed to sell them and take them back. Once I swiped my card, I bolted out of there.

I'll continue to buy RTIC if their prices continue to be half of Yetis and work just as well.

Ok good deal, the Ozark Trail ones are good to go. My wife got one and we did a side by side test with same amount of ice cubes and water both same temp and the next day they both still had the exact same size ball of ice. Ah, the boredom of married life but it is the little things that make them work . good job K.

I just can't justify it. Even if i spend 150$ on a new cooler, 150$ buys me 75 10# bags of ice. I might use twice the amount of ice in the cooler i have now, but even then, thats enough ice for 25 trips to my hunting lease, which is probably close to a year and a half of hunting trips. Now take a Yeti, thats 400$, you do the math. Maybe one day when my igloo falls apart....
It's crazy how many broke people I know own yetis....its ridiculous, its like costa del mars...You drive a beat up 1990 ford pickup and have a 300$ pair of costas and 65 qt yeti in your bed...

Costco by me has 165 qt. Igloos on sale at the front. It was hard for me to keep walking. I don't like that drink hatch in the top though. They're made here too.
