Would they actually "blow" up hitting the ground?
I'd ask him if he's pregnant. He missed a s__tload of periods. I'll take "things that look like a uterus" for $200 Alex.

I did not watch the whole thing, but the one bird on the ground I did see before I clicked out had the skin peeled back off only the entire breast like I do if I am removing the breast from a bird and there was a big hole in it. Not saying this one was staged, but y'all do realize a lot of youtube videos are staged in an attempt to go viral to earn advertising dollars.

I've seen much, much worse at wind power facilities. Bats, ducks, geese, etc.

Lets assume this is true, what is the point this guy is trying to make? We tear down these aerial power lines and bury them or something, maybe do without power?

I would think the skin being peeled back could have been from a hawk going after the carcasses perhaps.
Guy, alot of times they will take known migration paths into account when siting the power lines.
There are all kinds of bird strikes on tall buildings, communication towers, and other things as well.

It took him waaayyy to long to start thinking about checking for bands.
I wonder how long before federal game wardens pull the video down for evidence.

Funny also there are no comments on that video, I guess he is blocking all comments?? My BS meter is going off.

I don't really think he had a point either other than pure spectacle to generate views on his webpages to make more money for him. So no evil conspiracy to see there. To the video I have no doubt its real as we just bought a property and have already seen a few ducks meet their demise by flying into the high voltage power lines that cross over a tank. But that is just the price of modern civilization I don't think he was trying to make any other statement other than trying to make a buck.

les johnson has had predator hunting shows on the outdoor channels for years. that video felt to me like the landowners around Edgar, NE had tried like crazy to block the power lines crossing their property and he was posting this video as evidence/i told you so on why it shouldnt have been built.

I am calling BS. Not saying he is being dishonest, I don't think the power lines killed the geese. I certainly don't think it "Blew off their heads and wings and blew open their bodies" without any charring whatsoever. Every human I have seen electrocuted by a lot less electricity than what is in those lines is charred black. Second off, everyone of those geese would have to touch the line carrying electricity and touch a ground source at the same time. I am pressing the red BS button.

I didn't watch the whole thing but I don't think he was implying that they were electrocuted. The damage was done by the birds simply flying into the power lines and hitting the ground. .

Can't answer that question but I feel confident there is a big part of the story not being told. I would bet a plug nickel it was not electricity.

He said 89 died and 3 lived. So all but 3 hit the lines and died. Still hitting the BS button. Id be more inclined to believe they died from disease and predators are whts ripping them up. I don't trust the story he is peddling with a lot of "Probably" thrown out there.

wal1809 is correct about them not being electrocuted, but anyone inferring that this was staged or couldn't happen hasn't seen a large flock of ducks/geese/cranes fighting a strong wind with a power line or fence in their flight path.
On 2 different occasions this season I witnessed this same thing...once was while scouting and a flock of 5-600 ducks jumped up, there was a power line in their path, an we picked up 2 dead wigeon after the flock passed by the power line. Watched them hit and fall stone dead. They were not electrocuted, but had broke their neck. Second occasion was during teal season and watched a bluewing misjudge a barb wire fence...caught a barb about mid-neck and hung himself.
Have seen in the past, dead cranes and geese on the side of the road where a power line runs along the road after a strong wind.
Have heard from maintenance folks that the wind farms are really bad about this.

I could see a flock of 2,000-5,000 snows (not uncommon at all) hitting the line and falling out the sky to thier death. As mentioned if the didnt know the wire was there. Im not sure if wire impact or ground impact or small electrical current short circuited their heart killed them but I dont think fowl play.
Also about the one with the breast showing early in the video.....Have you ever cleaned a young snow/ross alot of times that membrane isnt strong and just slides off. When cleaning they are way different than a duck

To be clear I am not at all saying someone is lying. I just think his theory is crap. Whether his theory is elctrical or mechanical that killed them, either way its crap.

Wasn't it that they hit the power line and died? I think it's pretty obvious that the powerline in one way or another is what killed them.

In a park, I saw 2 mallard drakes trying to bang a hen, chasing her all around, she flew into a powerline trying to get away from them, she fell to the ground injured, then the drakes had their way with her. Those mallards are brutel. I think I believe the story after some of the explinations.

His theory was the power lines were reposnible for the death of the snow geese. The only connection he makes with the powerlines is the geese are located near it. There is no charring so I certainly don't expect electricity. I don't buy the entire flock, -3, flee into powerlines and ripped themselves to shreds. Imagine me making these assumptions while investigating a murder. I would get butchered. I was standing in front a bar back own 1989 when two guys for into a scrap. Right next to me one shot and killed the other. I was there but had nothing to do with it. The power lines are there but there is no evidence to point the finger at the powerline.

It would not be difficult after a goose hunt to spread the geese around next to a power line shoot a video and tell a story, gather the geese back up and go home. Not saying that happened, just that there are just as many staged videos than real on YouTube. It is an accepted social norm. People will often do this when it involves making money. So I always look at videos like that as entertainment rather than fact. Real or not.
