I enjoy it, as long as it is done with experience grin

I have been wrong many times and learned from it. And I agree 100%, experience always trumps opinion cheers

Maybe I should have said, nobody likes being told they are wrong when their experience has proven otherwise.

Personally, I've killed one deer with a .223 and I'll likely do it again, but I know there are lots of guys on here who have killed hundreds of deer with one.

confused2 I just am a bit afraid to try the .223 on deer after reading all of this. I'll stick with my 6mm as it has worked just fine for decades for me. bolt

I Feed Indian Corn. The deer love it and all the colors make them stay at the feeder longer.

Who'da thunk it?

It's pretty obvious it came back to life because one poster was trying to "troll up" another pi**ing match. And he is on the pro-.223 side of the ledger.

The deer hunting seasons are ending and some people just can't accept it.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

The real answer is another question: Are you a capable, competent shooter with your weapon of choice?
A miss with a hand thrown rock, an arrow or a BMG50 gives the same result.

My two nephews made "sand angels" at the ranch last weekend... I cant imagine wanting to lay in all that sand and being happy about it. I think we are going to need to clean out the traps in the shower drain from all the sand!

It will do it, but I would also recommend stepping up to a .243. The recoil is very manageable.

I shoot at Black Panthers in East Texas with a .223 using a spotlight while drinking moonshine and driving an F-350 because they're cool.

How's that for obnoxious?
