Wow. Great discussion. Thanks. So if I have a 556 upper now, what would I need to change to run the Grendel through it?

sounds like another thing to have to take care of imo but more power to you... those rounds are so close why not go to a .308 or .243 6mm etc... 6.5 would be cool

Wow. I stand corrected.

I built a 7.62x39 AR for my wife and one for me. I went with Green Mountain Rifle Barrels for my barrel and a Red X Arms BCG for one of them. I was at Radical Firearms when their first set of 7.62x39 barrels came in the door so the owner wanted me to try one out and let him know what I thought of it. It's a good accurate barrel and they had a nice finish on them. I also used a Red X Arms BCG for the second rifle. I shoot Federal Fusion 7.62x39 and Wolf Polyformance HP's out of them. For mags I have both C-Products and ASC and they are both reliable mags. I built them just because I had a bunch of parts sitting around in the shop and figured they would be good for shooting hogs from the blind. Right now they are both completely disassembled and I am going to refinish them at some point.
