Anyone ever get creeped out in SHNF? I don't know what the deal is. I just can't help but feel like someone is always watching me or something is behind me all the time out there. I don't believe in ghosts, but i have seen some un-explainable things out there at night time.

There's a perfectly logical explanation for what goes on in the SHNF.

I remember one time i was sitting around the campfire with friends, and we all looked up and saw what looked like someone carrying a lantern down the road. We hollered and tryed to say hello, but it kept moving down the road, bobbing up and down, except there was no one carrying it. I heard since then that mountain lion's eyes can look like that at night, but it sure looked like a lantern to all of us.

Someone that hunts the sam a lot told a friend of mine that he's seen skunk apes out there. Said he was sleeping in the back of his truck and something tapped him on his shoulder. He woke up and it was a skunk ape

He woke up and it was a skunk ape I'd like to hear the rest of that story. Guessing it ended with him having to change his drawers....or he woke up. Did it hand him some jerky?

Never hunted SHNF, but I tell you what. I get a creepy feeling when I hunt Big Thicket Nation Forest. I hunt Angelina National forest farther north and don't get the feeling of being watched like I do in the Big Thicket. I don't really believe in ghosts or bigfoot but I get creeped out sometimes there.

N I don't really believe in ghosts or bigfoot but I get creeped out sometimes there. When you grow up with a ghost in your grandparents house that everyone in your family has seen then you will believe it. All of my Aunts my uncles my mom have all had experieces and it is typically the same ghost and they think it was the fpormer owner of the house who died there. I know it sounds crazy but its true there are ghosts. I have seen it myself when I was young. I wouldnt believe it if I hadnt experienced it. As far as skunk apes aka bigfoot. I am still a skeptic because I havent seen it. However, I have seen and heard some things in the SHNF that might be evidence of them in those woods. I just found this latest tree structure when hunting new areas this past deer season. I have found other tree structures also and have heard things I cant explain.

I have a friend who goes up to Oklahoma every year to hunt wood apes for weeks at a time. He swears he has seen one person. He says they are very serious and keep military like schedules with no intoxicants of any type allowed in camp. The friend is a highly reputable surgeon that does tons of research so this gave me a bit more confidence in is stories.
