I have a Pioneer 700R4 I truly love, but given my 2 teenage boys have unfortunately decided hunting holds nothing for them, I'm pretty much riding alone. I had a Foreman before the Pioneer that would fit in the back of my truck and could do anything I needed.
It would make my "stuff management" much easier to go back to an ATV as I don't need a trailer and the ATV takes alot less room to store, less to maintain.
Have you switched from a SxS to an ATV, did you regret doing so?

You could down-size your UTV to something like a Mule 610 or a Ranger 500 and it would fit in the back of your pickup. Best of both worlds?

I had an ATV, but hunted with some guys with UTV's and the versatility impressed me. I purchased a 610XC and haven't looked back. I work the crud out of it, and it will fit in the bed of my pickup. I've had it in some bad spots, but never so bad I couldn't get it unstuck by myself. The dump bed is very handy and I've hauled some pretty heavy loads in it - blinds, feed, wood, etc.

They have those cabs that fit on atv's in Sportsman Guide. A buddy had one on his atv worked okay. Have to take off when transporting. Did keep rain and cold off fro him.

We have both. Each has a purpose, with the ATVs for fun and the Kubota RTV for mostly work.
If we only could have one type, I guess we'd keep the Kubota. Work has to happen.

Find you a good old used Honda 4-wheeler and keep the utv. When im in a hurry I always ride the 4-wheeler, when im working or have someone with me the utv.

That is quite the load in the back of a truck. The Ranger 500 wheelbase is 72" @ 1055lbs. My Pioneer is 77" @ 1270. I drive a 2500 MegaCab, so it would work, but either one, sure is alot of machine in the bed. If it's pouring rain, I'm not likely to be in/on either one. If it's cold, it's just cold. Same for the others. Tough decision... Charlie

I would never had gotten the UTV if it had not been people started coming over... I still have my 2007 Grizzly 700 and bring it out when I want to scare the heck out of myself... I probably should sell it, but it is such a great bike

I have 3 atv's and 1 utv. I still like my atv best except when I'm filling feeders and working. And I love the utv when it's cold or raining. They all have their own purpose. If I had to keep only one, it would be the utv.

Utv is so much more versatile for me. Throw my corn in the back ladder on the top and gun in the mount. Much easier to bring back a kill. I've debated going with an atv again but I'm afraid with the ease of the utv I'd regret it. If I went and rode outside of the deer lease the atv would probably be more fun but can't remember the last time I did that.

I hate to be a Debbie downer, but you don't hear about a lot of people rolling UTV's. However, you hear about people rolling ATV's all the time. From a safety standpoint, I'm much more comfortable with my RTV than I would ever be with an ATV.
Thanks, Rich

Ive hunted out of 4 cylinder cars. Hunting is no need to buy a 3/4 ton pickup unless you want to. Looks like the owner of the pickup is doing just fine.

I hunted out of Saturn for years but when you NEED a truck rarely do you NEED a half ton.

I've hauled my buggy in the back of my truck several times when I'm of a mind to, and I have a shortbed with a toolbox. Saves me about 3 MPG over pulling my trailer, and if just me it's plenty of room. Throw the cooler in the bed of the buggy and roll out. Built a support that transfers the rear load into the receiver hitch to take it off the tailgate. Mine is similar in size and weight to the little Mule. Have another buddy who hauls his mule in the back of his 2500 then pulls his travel trailer behind him. Looks a little Sanford n' Son, but he gets it done.
