I put a good shot on this 9 point. He jumped the fence broke off the arrow and charged into the Texas Hill Country. I watched him run to a line of trees and stop. Night was coming and we made the decision to back out and come back in the morning. In the morning we picked up the blood trail easily, followed it to the line of trees...and nothing. The blood trail to that point was decent (the broken arrow sealing most of the entry wound) but the lumenock on the hit showed it was a kill shot. Then the rain begins. The Outfitter called a guy with a tracking dog, but to no avail. The dog picked up the scent easily but would circle the area and ultimately follow the trail back down to the blind. My Outfitter/guide BowsnRods, never gave up and he finally found him. We believe the Coyotes were on him very quickly and had pushed him another 500+ yds before he went down. Mother Nature can be harsh and this time the coyotes won. They are bringing a $100 bounty per snared coyote in the Texas Hill Country this year.
Be calm brother, I see you and thank you. Your spirit and body nourish mine. Be calm brother; I see you and thank you.

Doing what they were born to do, take out the weak and injured. Meat would have been ruined anyway. Top predator failed. Secondary predator probably finished the job. Everything has its place. Population control is fine though.
To be determined

This is why I gave up bow hunting or leave them over night. Too many yotes despite my best efforts in the off season.

Inshot a yote a couple weekends ago and then watched a whole pack devour a gut pile from 300 yds with night vision. I shot at them but not sure if I hit any.

Hard to blame any predator, even coyotes for taking the easy meal when they work so dang hard for every bite they manage to scrape up.
Be like if you were out in the woods starving and a pizza stumbled by you.

My first buck ever was taken with gun. Shot to the boiler room and took out both lungs. He ran 30 yards and went down behind a tree line? I gave him 15-20 minutes and when I went to retrieve him 3 coyotes had eaten one hind quarter and eaten his guts. I too shoot every coyote I see.

All yotes need to die. I hate them. Shoot them any chance I get.

Worms can clean up the mess and deer die for a lot of reasons, I don't need yotes helping the matter. Coyotes hit you in the pocketbook. We've had years where they hit us for $5,000+ of livestock (on a small place). What's the going rate for a 150" buck, maybe $2,500-3,500? Think about that when you're sitting in the blind and the buck doesn't show up because a coyote you gave a pass ate him 5.5 years ago. You're darned tootin I despise them.
