has anyone ever used these bullets to hunt? I'm using the .224 77 grain tipped match kings at approximately 3000 fps and am wondering how they will perform on deer. Also, i have a deer hide and shoulder bones that I am going to test them on and am wondering what type of materials i could use as a back stop or to mimmick lungs/guts to retrieve the bullet after the test.I don't have ballistic gelatin so I am looking for a poor mans solution. any ideas will be greatly appreciated. I did call Sierra and asked them how they would perform and on game they have no idea. thanks

While any bullet might kill a deer, match grade bullet are not the best choice. Sierra had no idea how they would perform because thats not what they were designed for.

If they are anything like their regular match bullets they go off like a hand grenade. Very internally explosive.

I've been testing them on hogs for about 6 months now. Wanted a cheaper bullet that the 75 grain Swift Scorraco 2s that I love but they are pricey. So far, with only about 3 dozen kills under my belt and mostly medium sized (150-200#) hogs, they have been awesome. Almost all have been one shot immediate kills. Usually pass through with lots of damage. Shots are usually inside 200 yards and I always take the neck or head shot. No shoulder or behind shots attempted. I just ordered another 1000 of these bullets and they are very accurate, less than 1" 5 shot groups at 200 yards.
