Have finally decided to purchase a Ranger and will be getting one this weekend. Any advice on the 570 crew? Enough power for hauling sacks of corn/protein with a few passengers? The ranch has some decent hills to climb and it does get pretty muddy at times. Enough pep to pull a light trailer with 1000-2000 lbs?

The only option I'm leaning towards right now is the power steering and will probably add a few things later.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Its probably fine but sounds like you might be happier with the more powerful model for all that.

I hunted with a guy a few years back that had the 570 crew and the only issues he had vs my 900 was the low ground clearance. He had trouble in deep ruts but they may have more clearance now.

I do not have any issues with mine, but I'm old a and just putt around. Does good on the hills, putting it in low 4x4. I did put a 2" lift on mine, made a lot of difference. Mine does have power steering, I thought I would never need it until I drove it, big difference and my granddaughter has not problem steering it. I have no regrets.

I aughed about power steering to several posts. We could have used it our last few quail hunts. The dried fire ant beds were like concrete. They would jerk the wheel out of your hand.

Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

Go with the 900 or new 1000. Quick attach windshield, power steering, and don't look at the bottom figure. Heck it's worth the pleasure. Oh and buy the extended warranty grin

Check out the Pro-FXT before you buy. I had full intention of buying a Ranger but changed my mind after I drove the Mule. I didn't like the power steering in the Rangers, made it feel too loose. It's awesome on the Mule.

I can't make any recommendation on the Ranger 570 but I have a 2014 Polaris 570 4 wheeler that has been a good machine so far. I got power steering on it because of a shoulder injury and it makes riding in tight quarters effortless. I think the engine is plenty strong for the Ranger and for sure get PS.

If you are actually going to use it for working and not wanting for playing such as riding around at 40 plus mph I would get a Kubota. I have had mine for going on 5 years. Gone through 2.5 sets of tires. Pulled a flat bed trailer with 50 bales of alfalfa. Regularly pull a 14 ft. stock trailer around the ranch moving Ibex. Added a quieter muffler and moved the air intake farther up. Never a mechanical problem. Close to 3000 hours on it.

Thanks for all the replies. Just need something with some decent room for the wife and our three kiddos. I'm sure they'll log quite a few hours riding around the ranch so I'll need something dependable.

This

I ride in a Polaris '16 900 and a mule ftx every week and I would take the mule hands down.

I traded my 15 900 for a mule pro fxt. So far happy with the trade. Slightly slower than the ranger 900 but still does 45 no problem. I like most everything about the mule so far. The new Can Am's look pretty awesome too. I wouldn't buy something that's known to be slow. My ranch neighbor had the kubota and it's slow, rough and loud the times I've been on it.

I use a dealer who handles both Polaris and Kubota - these guys run many of these units through their shop for repair. They told me that in their opinion the Kubota is by far the better made units. I owned 3 Rangers and got tired of the constant repairs - so I went to the Kubota 1100 and love it. Not quite as fast as the Polaris but otherwise out performs them IMO -

I just bought a Ranger 570 midsize and it is perfect for me. Before you buy check out the prices at Antlers motor sports in Antlers Ok. It was about a two hour drive from Rowlett for me but well worth it.

Sidebuster is correct, Antlers Motorsports does have great prices.
I bought an ATV and a Yamaha R1 from them.

My father in law bought a 2013 500 efi new. It has been awesome at the ranch. We have loaded 300 plus lbs in the bed of corn or cubes and had 4-5 passengers with 2-3 dogs all piled in and it does just fine. We dont have super steep hills but a few rocky slopes that it gets up just fine. My father in law even sunk it at a low muddy creek where he had to get a truck to pull it out. Drained all fluids, replaced and keeps running strong. Has over 600 hours. He uses it weekly and i try to maintain it for him. Has been a great machine. When loaded down like i said above it can bottom out on some rocks but he is prob 275 im 240 my buddy 240 and the kids prob 300 combined plus 2 labs and a german shepherd. So im impressed to say the least.

Forgot to add we use it to plow a sunflower field in some rough ground near Santa Anna.

x3 Great machine. I see them all out here, Rangers, Kubota's, Yamaha's and the new Mule is by far the best.

Id size up to the 900 just in case you do end up needing to load it down. Cant beat the ride of a ranger, mules cant compete.

Went with the Ranger 570-4 with power steering. It was the best bang for the buck out the door and it fits my family of five very well.

Plan on getting a small lift and getting a solid windshield made here soon.

Any lifts ya'll recommend? I'd like a 3-4 inch, but not really wanting to swap out shocks and/or a-arms

I'd look at a half windshield if it were me. There's a huge difference between them, the full windshield tends to bring a lot of dust into the passenger compartment.

I have a 570 crew midsize and I like it a lot. I have 27" tires on mine and have loaded it down with 600 pounds of corn and it does great. I will be putting a lift on it. I got the 570 instead of the 900 because it has 4 more horsepower than the old 800's and I have used those at the ranch in junction and they have plenty power.

Good deal. Have you adjusted your factory shocks at all to raise ride height and to withstand more load?
