Not looking good. http://ammoseek.com/ammo/30-40-kragI looked on gunbroker and the secondary market is through the roof. It is one of those seasonal cartridges. One of the manufaturers will make a run of it again eventually.

If he has his great great grandfathers 1898 that would be pretty cool if he could take a hog with it. I have an 1895 dated 1896 carbine, 1896 rifle, and a sportered 1899 carbine. I only shoot the 1899 hog hunting also and probably have less than a half dozen Reminton corelocks left for it, but I have enough guns that I can wait until the next production run for more ammo.
