That order. I would assume elk hunting is similar to axis stalking.

HF axis are a booger to hunt, they get really smart. The big males get more bold and can be a little easier.
Yep, doe are more difficult to hunt; that's what I hunt for!

As for the long range on aoudad thing: I hunted from 1-dark on that Saturday in January. Did not see a single sheep, just some wild cattle and some pigs. The first pig popped up under 150yd; the 2 that the stand-by hunter and I ended up killing were at 250 (last shot bing 273yd). That was far for me--if you go back enough you'll see the full thread and the poop I got for a 3/5 shooting percentage. The next day we were unable to hunt, but the stand-by boy texted me a pic of a 28" ram he killed, in the afternoon. He shot 2, at 330yd and 400yd. That may as well have been Mars for my shooting ability at that time. Now, I can shoot out to 300yd, but that is spitting distance for some on here. Just my 2cents

My brother hunts a high fenced ranch in Rock Springs where they have been trying to eliminate the Axis for over ten years. He goes up and shoots one spotlighting occasionally but they can't seem to cut the numbers much. He got an S&P 10 with thermal scope now things might change.

We had axis on game cams at my BIL's place near Kerrville all the time but only got 2 over the years.

Of all the critters I hunt on my place...pigs. Some freak of geography they don't come in.

They're kinda like dog doodles. The older they get, the easier they are to pick up.

Jaguar in the Rain Forest of Southern Mexico. Absolutely the most miserable hunting conditions with all the heat, humidity, bugs and dense vegetation. While one of my goals is to tree one of these critters, I don't want to go back to Chetumal to do it. I will go into South America where vegetation is not quite as dense and further from the equator.
Adios,
Gary

I would imagine that would be quite a hunt

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I will be more than happy to help get rid of the axis.

For me, personally. It would have to be a Desert Mule Deer. Still haven't taken one.

I'd say a mature snow goose or blue goose. Thousands of eyes looking and they commit last. Fairly easy to shoot a juvenile snow, but a trophy snow or blue goose is a prize. Also, sea duck hunting for eiders and scoters- just a tough ( and dangerous) environment!

Nymphomaniacs. It's a long, hard hunt but if you're lucky enough to get one you won't ever forget it.

I've been hunting them for years, only got 3. Could have gotten 4, I had an opportunity to harvest one when I was 16 but I was inexperienced and made the mistake of telling one one of my older hunting buddies what I'd found. He swooped in and took the shot before I had a chance to get it.

No one has mentioned it, but I have to believe it's no small task to take an non-baited wild turkey with a bow as well.

I personally do not have a problem with road hunting..I will usually only harvest a bird off the road side if I have had a rough day in the fields without producing any results. Still..to me there is nothing better then getting a rooster hunting with your dog..that is what it is all about in my eyes. The road hunting aspect has lost its appeal to me but after a day of walking 30 miles and not getting any birds..I think I would pop one in a ditch if the opportunity presented itself...

Snipe! My friends takes me out hunting for them and I haven't found one yet. Very elusive creatures.

I have to agree with the wild turkey. I had one particular turkey that seemed to know exactly where you would be and always walked passed you just out of range whether you had a gun or a bow no matter how well you thought you had him patterned. Eventually he was baited in a taken with a bow but if it wasn't for that he may still be out there.
