First I bought was a Colt MK IV 380, stop own it. First gun I was given was a Stevens mod 15, still own it.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Mine was a Ruger 10/22. I also have my dad's first gun, which is a Remington 550-2.

My maternal grandmother absolutely forbade my dad getting me a bb gun at 6 years old for Christmas. So he didn't. I got a Winchester 94 in 30-30 instead. My Dad and a few uncles and I stepped outside to shoot it. I was hitting bottle caps at 1,000 yards with that thing after just a few shots. Thinking back...it was more likely a coffee can at about 20 yards, but don't tell me any different!

First rifle was a Marlin 22 mag, stainless with a laminate stock. First deer rifle was a winchester m70 featherweight XTR in 7x57.
Both were stolen from my father's business while I was away in the Navy. Never recovered those, but I did find my father's first rifle in a pawn shop 6 years later while I was randomly browsing. Couldn't forget the ugly bushnell scope.

I was 6 years old when daddy gave me his JC Higgins (Sears & Roebuck) bolt action .22 with Weaver 6x (El Paso made). That was 42 years ago and I still have it and use it. Still one of the most accurate, best shooting .22's that I've ever owned. It's even more special in that his father gave it to him. They're both gone now.
