For the home town feel, I love Napoli's in Corsicana cause we know all the locals that go in and we are good friends with the bartenders. For a night out on the town, I like Hurricane Harry's in College station cause they usually have good music and nice eye candy walking around there. As for worse, We went into Coyete Ugly in San Antonio a couple of weeks ago. I was very disappointed. The bartenders were not what I was expecting if you know what I mean. I only drink Crown & Cokes but this place does not serve crown Buck Horn Saloon was pretty cool and they had good drinks without watering them down with cokes.

Buck Horn was cool, the sampler pack of brews was real nice, especially the one they make with coffee. Applebees is about the only affordable place to go have a brew in Greenville, and it's usually chocked full of d-bags trying to impress the cougars. I had to call the manager over on a table the last time I was in there. These guys were dropping the f-bomb every 3 words and were so loud that I could barely carry on a conversation with my wife.
Monkey's Pub in Wylie was a pretty cool place the last time I was in there, their bar is coated with spray-on bedliner. Bake's in Terrell is ok IF you know somebody there. Lots of bikers hang out there...

coyote ugly is WAY overrated. ugly girls, watered down alcohol and it way too smokey, even for a bar.

hands down, and everybody calls me crazy on this, if you wanna see good looking women go to the horse races at retama park on $1 beer nite.

as for the rest of the week, its hard to beat cowboys or midnight rodeo

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

My two favorites in Dallas are Adiar's Saloon in Deep Ellum. The only place to see live music in Dallas. The other is The Time Out Tavern at Lovers and Inwood. It has a feel very similar to Adiars. It has the same feeling as Adair's very old and nostalgic feeling that you don't get in any of these new "Irish pub pop up bars."

Go to Howl at the Moon in San Antonio, it's close to Coyote Ugly and way more fun!

I saw that Howl at the Moon. It looked packed. Isn't it a piano bar? I'll have to check it out next time.

Howl at the moon is a piano bar, very fun. But if your talkin about just comin in settin down and drinkin some beer and shootin some whiskey, give me the hole in the walls..........For Fort Worth it would be the White Elephant, Dallas would definetly be Adairs, Dont get to Waco very often, but the only place I have really been is Crickets. And of course the Back of the Bee in Maypearl.......

been to the Bee a few times when I lived in Blooming Grove. Last time I was there, Mason and Tyler were playing. Always a fun atmosphere

Around the casa it's $2 Jim Beam and Colas at Hanks in McKinney on Wed., dollar pints of their own brews at Two Rows in Allen all day Mon-Wed, Pete's Dueling Piano Bar in Addison is fun but big time crowded on the weekends...and I miss the Plano Tavern. Now when I'm fishing or at my deer lease in East Texas (Wood Co. area) East Fork or Ed's outside of Hawkins. Those are all my favs.

Around McKinney, Big Tony's on 380 is awesome too. Always cheap drinks and their pizza is great.

Even though a surly prick owns it now, Adairs is still the finest beer joint in Dallas. The Time Out is okay of you want to be crowded out by a bunch of SMU pricks.

My preference is Sterling's at Frankford and Midway in Carrollton. They are always having a good "special." Jack and Coke are usually $2 AND the 'tenders are heavy handed.....

Heavy handed is a way to describe half the bars in Texas, heavy chested is a way better measure of skill! JMHO.

Unfortunetly that goes for most of the bars south of NW Highway and north of Fair Park.
