I have a heavy duty 1/2" Ridgid Hammer Drill, but the chuck is very tight & messed up. I noticed the back of the chuck has two flats so a thin wrench can go on it. Has anyone ever changed the chuck on one of these or similar? Do I have to take it to a repair shop or can I do this myself?
TIA...

doesn't Rigid have lifetime warranty on their tools? or is it just the batteries that come in a kit ... never removed one of the chucks from my Rigid cordless drills, but suspect you would go thru the "mouth" to remove a screw and a large allen wrench similar to the below video Rigid Tool Forum

Rigid does have a lifetime warranty, to include batteries, IF you register everything properly.

slight correction to the warranty on batteries. If you buy just an additional battery, they do not off the lifetime warranty. I needed an additional battery and I went to Home Depot and purchased a 2-pack 18v 4.0ah battery, my wife called Rigid to register and was informed they do not offer the lifetime warranty on batteries purchased separately, only those that come with one of their cordless tools (most of which are 1.5-2.5ah batteries) ... just a heads up on that.

They also do not warranty the chucks. I found out when I sent mine in for repairs.
