I just traded for a Burris XTR II. Does anyone have any experience with these scopes?

Ok thanks guys. I didn't even know Burris was making a scope like this. It's a 34mm with illuminated reticle. Seems very clear. I am thinking I did alright on the trade.

Previous were ok but mixed reticle and adjustments and the turrets were not near as good imo.

Steiner and Burris have the same address and are both owned by Beretta. Me thinks they are the same company. Since Steiner makes some incredibly good optics I think Burris is able to also. My favorite scope for under $200.00 is the Fullfield II in 3-9 or 2-7.

Not all scopes are made at the same place the Steiner military series far exceeds the txi or Burris lineup. They are also produced in Germany vs the U.S. and wherever the XTR is made.

You miss my point. They are the same company with Burris being the lower end product line. Kind of like Benelli and Franchi if you will. What I'm saying is Burris has the capability and know how to market an excellent higher end scope.

I believe Philippines is where the XTR II comes from.

Good stuff IMO

I understand to an extent but they have done very poor with cs until recently. The t5xi line was poorly handled with its poor traking and bad ca. The Burris Steiner warranty center flat denied problems until video proof surfaced. Fast forward almost 2 years they finally have a fix and are standing up to fix things. The Burris has been pretty solid so far and I've really yet to see many negative things. Imo glass is not great but decent enough for the price and scr reticle is a home run.

They are great!

A little long and heavy though, a Leopold Pig Plex is a little shorter and lighter, both have great glass.

I've got the 5-25 SCR mil, and for the money, I think they're pretty tough to beat. You get a lot of features for the price. 10 mils per revolution, 34 mm tube, FFP, solid zero stop and illuminated reticle in the high power models. Tracking seems to be spot on, and clicks are solid and loud. It's built like a tank and heavy as crap, but I didn't buy it to hike the hills. I would love to own a Nightforce, but with my budget can't justify nearly twice the cost (for the NXS). I will say shooting the two side by side, the Nightforce glass is clearer to my eyes as I would expect. But i feel Burris knocked it out of the park with these scopes, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

I've got a 1.5x8 XTRII that I had on a 3 gun rifle and it's fantastic! I moved it over to my .300 Blackout and need to sight it in. I'm waiting for the 1-8's to come out, but I keep seeing delays on them.

Hunt.
