For the first time since 1971 we have seen deer on my dads place, went to academy and bought one of the remington poly 40 GAL feeders to keep them in the area so my Mom can watch them, anybody know of any probs to watch out for? i like the hinged lid and latch it has

No issues at all, I have 3 and have had them for 3 years with zero problems. They even stand up to being knocked over fairly well. One of mine was knocked over at least 4 times, on other was knocked over once. They are still working great.

I have 6 Remington digital feeders that are mounted on 50gal barrels and have never had a problem with any of them. I don't think they can be beaten, especially for the price!!

Only problem I had was the poly barrel didnt fit together perfectly, but solved that problem. Timer seems to be working great. May be the same BA timer Boss Buck appears to be using, dont know for sure but they sure look and program the same way.

My 3 y/o Remington has held up well, but fails to "funnel" the corn or pellets when down to about 1/3 full. Aggravating to have that much material still in it, but nothing being thrown. I sometimes use my hand or a handy stick to bump the bottom, to distribute the feed to the middle. Only flaw, but could have been engineered better.

same problem here... so what did i do to fix... im glad you asked.. took spin plate off.. and took a flat washer and pop riveted it to it and welded a small piece of welding rod to it that stuck up into funnel with a crook in it... now when feeder spins the rod turns in funnel loosing the feed or corn.... no problems now

Great minds think alike; I guess I've had two issues w/ the Remington feeder..."bridging" of the corn/pellets in the drop tube, solved in a similar manner as you did..I used a piece of brazing rod, and epoxied (J-B Weld) it to the Allen screw that hold the plate to the motor. Just long enough to ensure the food drops.
I suppose due to lack of slope in the bottom of the barrel, it tends to still quit slinging feed, with a lot still remaining inside.

yep the bottom of the feeder bucket is too flat.... the best feeder iver ever purchase was a lehman feeder... have one i purchased and 3 my father purchased back in eairly 80s... work great.. if timer gives problem send it to them they have it back in a week... good service and a hell of a piece of equipment...

I heard complaints about them not working. This seemed to mean that the spinner motor was adjusted too high so no corn was released.

The problem I have seen are the @#$%^&* squirrels chewing on the plastic top. I didn't think it was a problem until I checked this weekend and found a second chewed spot that has almost compromised the top.
