Sometimes I wonder how this nation ever got so screwed up; then I go to Wal Mart and all of my questions are answered.

I can't decide if our nation more closely resembles 1858 Baltimore or 1936 Berlin at this point.

Quote from Billy Madison sums this up very well.
Principal: Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

AR's are just a liberal's stepping stone to all the other things they want to decide what we should or should not have.

Very good investment, I remember during the last scare there was a guy that sold a case of 100 PMags on gun broker for $7,000 that's nuts.

Wow!! That's insane!!

I got caught with my pants down with Sandy Hook. I was in between "interests" as one should say and didn't have what I needed. I learned my lesson. I won't list what I have for Uncle Sam to have a record of it, but let me just say that my goal is a LIFETIME supply..of everything for everyone in my family and THEIR children when they have them - so that's a friggin lot! smile

I passed through Cabelas in Fort Worth on Saturday. Seemed like they were doing quite a few gun sales.

To be determined

Cabela's Ft. Worth sold out their inventory of M&P Sports and Ruger AR-556's on Monday. Were out of Windhams but a shipment came in Saturday evening. Plenty of Oracles and Windhams in stock. No S&W and no Ruger. Magazine inventory is very low.

The Allen store ran out of M&P's last Tuesday. IO know they started with two shipments of M&Ps totaling around 150 rifles. I don't know how many Rugers but I bought the last one of those for my son on Wednesday. Like FW, they had tons of DPMS left at that time. I was in there on Saturday and while they still had a few, not even many of those were left.

The weird thing? I was in GT Distributors on Saturday too. They are still fully stocked. Even have Colt AR15A4 20" rifles for $899 still. I figured they would have sold out of those weeks ago as they've had them in stock for a month or more (that's where I bought mine from)...on Saturday they still had Windham, S&W, Ruger, Colt, you name it on the wall - and were doing a brisk business.

We've seen this so many times that people are now stocked up already. Only people that are buying right now are:

1) People that didn't learn their lesson after previous scares
2) People that weren't of age to buy guns previously
3) People that are just now getting interested in guns
4) People trying to take advantage of the folks that fall in #1 - 3

I'm going to put my bead on this, just my opinion.

I think the mentality that drives the majority of these AR sales is simply the possibility of someone telling free Americans they can't have something. I doubt people are buying these rifles to have at the ready to fight their government.

How many rifles purchased in the last two "scares" have ever even been fired? The majority of the population lives in urban areas. To go shoot a rifle, a day or part of a day is planned around visiting a public or club range. That takes effort, and a massive portion of the population is lazy. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for non-criminals going out and buying what they damn well please, I just think they are doing it in fear that they will be told they can't, in the near future.

The small gun shops I have visited are fine inventory wise. I would guess that the reason Cabela's inventory is getting blown out while LGS inventory seems fine is based on who is panic buying these guns. It seems that the people buying right now are the guys who don't really shoot and know very little about ARs. That kind of guy is always going to head to the big box store.

Kinda why I bought mine. I shoot the hell out of mine though.

Weird thing I've noticed about AR's is they seem to multiply. You get one, it is fun to shoot, you kill a couple critters with it, next thing you know you got four or five of them laying around and still looking for the next one.

I don't think I know anybody who has one that doesn't own at least two.

Shoot. Eat. Repeat.
