Named the "Long Ranger". Looks like a BLR clone but as with all their firearms, made in the USA. Initial chamber offerings are 223 Rem, 243 Win, & 308 Win.

Me likey! I've always been a fan of the BROWNING BLR, hopefully they come with a cheaper price than the BLR and eventually in more calibers, maybe the 460XVR

I wish they would put some iron sights on that rig. Maybe even a scout mount option.

Looks good. .243 for me, please. Haven't bought a lever gun in my life, only inherited a couple. 'Bout time.

That would be sweet in a 7mm-08. Maybe they would offer that in the future.

I'm with those who are waiting for a number of objective (non gun-rag) reports and reviews before I get too excited.
I'd particularly want to see one in various stages of disassembly. I'm curious about the hanger for the forearm, and some detail about the trigger mechanism for starters.
The forearm hanger design is critical in this type of design. Owners of the Ruger #1, the Winchester 1885, and of course the BLR will know what I'm talking about here. If it is not strong enough, the forearm will contact the barrel under some circumstances so that it is only intermittently free-floating.
An exploded parts drawing would be good, too.
With the trigger, my first concern would be how well it will respond to tuning, and if the design lends itself well to an aftermarket trigger for those who might prefer a single-set, lighter pull, etc..
The overall looks are not bad, but the available images do not tell us much about the quality of the metal finish, or the kind of wood that one can expect. Details like that will mean a lot for those of us who want to judge the relative value of the Henry Vs the BLR. The black fore-end tip for example: - Wood or polymer?
If the fore-end hanger is robust but not too close to touching the barrel, that opens up the possibility of heavier aftermarket barrels, or even switch-barrels which would be a real plus. This may be a moot point though, depending upon how the in-barrel lockup is done.
Like just about everyone else, I'd like to see more caliber choices, but .223, .243 and .308 are a good start.
One thing that immediately stands out is that Henry has followed Mossberg's lead with the Patriot in stepping away from a slightly goofy look that has characterized some of their earlier designs. At first glance, the overall lines of the Long Ranger are an obvious step up from the earlier Henrys - and the BLR, for that matter.

To me it appears to be an innovative design for the calibers, as stated above much like the BLR. If the barrel floating issue and fit and finish are properly handled this could be a huge seller for Henry. I would like to try one in .243. I like lever action rifles (although not my no. 1 go to rifles for hunting) I bought one of the Marlin .308 Express rifles and am very impressed with it. IMO The Long Ranger needs iron sights.

Not crazy about the mag release button, but I'm ready to see one!

I love the look and feel of the Henry's but as long as they use that cheap [censored] aluminum housing I can't buy into owning one. That gun will never be a moa gun because you can't mount a rail and the rail system they have wont stabilize a scope.

If it's made and shoots as nice as my Golden Boy, it'll be one helluva rifle.

It's made to look like one - but there are major differences. Whether those differences will add up to a step forward or a step back remain to be seen at this point.
Kind regards, charlesb

I have always loved the idea of a lever action rifle and own a couple, Marlin 30-30 and Henry Golden Boy, but the Browning BLR was the one I really wanted until I actually bought one. The best group I was ever able to get out of it was three inches...I took it back and traded it for a bolt. The poor shooting out of it really ended my desire for anything bigger than a 22 out of a lever action.
It'd be really nice if this rifle will perform. Perhaps it'd change my mind about a lever action deer rifle. I like the idea of the 7mm-08.

If I didn't already have a BLR in 308 I'd likely need one of those.

I'm curious about the trigger too. If it is as bad as the BLR it would need some serious trigger work before I'd have one. I had to put a Happy Trigger in my 336 before I could stomach it. I'd have to have iron sights also. Even if I never used them. Doesn't look right.
Don’t roll those bloodshot eyes at me.
