How much change do you average using the omega?
Bolt gun? AR?

They will have a varying shift, depending on the barrel, barrel length, barrel thickness, and bedding. For your rifle, though, it will be a repeatable shift and can be corrected for.

Honestly I've never shot my 6.8 w/o it, so I don't really know. However, there is a possibility that the first shot and all subsequent shots in a string are not hitting the same spot. Here are two different 100yd 5 shot groups: High shot, then four together (6.8 SPC, Fed Fusion 115gr.) 16" RRA with ASR Brake and Omega Low shot, then four together (5.56, Hornady .223 55gr Varmint Express) 18" RRA with ASR Flash Hider and Omega

It won't help you shoot any better True but even if I get one you will still need the 10 point bonus stage to beat me

You'll learn what the rifle does in no time. You can zero the scope to the cold bore shot, for hunting purposes, or you can zero to where it starts to group like QuitShootinYoungBucks pointed out.
My 7-08 is zeroed to the cold bore, but subsequent shots will be .3 MIL low. But I know that, so it's not a problem.

Once you hunt suppressed, you'll (almost) never hunt with an unsupressed rifle ever again.

Nope.
My educated theory is as the barrel heats up it becomes more flexible. More flexible means more sine wave on the muzzle causing it to open up the consistentcy.
But my suppressor is 10" and 26 oz. So that makes the opening up more pronounced. Cut the weight down to 16 oz. on a non-magnum rated suppressor, and it would shoot more consistently cold bore to warm barrel.

I doubt it unless I build more rifles. I can't stand long rifles, they are not practical for 90% of my styles. I'm thinking of building a stubby soon , I just don't know what caliber yet.

The 7 Rem Mag was load developed without suppressor, and it'll shoot perfect center all the way out to 800, at will. Add the suppressor and it goes to poop. 26" "lighter" barrel than all the other rifles.

1:8 twist 223 loaded with 75 gr A-maxes would be pretty cool. All the brass and bullets you could ask for.
:edit: I'm pretty impressed with my .308 loaded with 155 gr Tipped Match Kings. I'm getting 2600 fps MV out of a 16" AR. You'd get more velocity than that with the bolt action. By some miracle that 155 gr .30 cal has a BC of .519. Higher than a 175 SMK, and higher than a 178 A-Max.

My 300 win mag with a MTU contour 28 inch barrel has virtually not shift. My buddies light weight 260 have almost a 6in shift.

In my experience the actual BC through testing is quite a bit lower. The BC of the tipped match king should be quite close to that of the Amax in the same weight. Very similar bullet design.

I have used the BC published by Sierra on the 175gr MKT and found it money to 1000 yards.

POI shift when I put the Omega on my 6.5 creedmoore was .3 MIL at 100. But it is very repeatable.
