I am able to lease a small(50 acres) tract of land from Temple. It is in Angelina County(2Buck). Going to look at it this weekend. Do yall think it is worth it. The price is right at 250

I've wondered that myself. But I think if I'm that close to the national forest, I'd rather hunt it for free.

It would depend on the setup, water? electricity? cabin? and whether or not the land around it was hunted for me to decide.

What does it look like? Does it have a pond/stream/creek? Is it wooded (?%), pasture (?%)? Will the owner shred it or will you have to? What is the neighboring land and is it hunted heavy?

If it has plenty of water, if the rain runoff sheds properly and leaves no flooding; if the owner shreds it and if the surrounding land looks good and doesn't get overhunted, then I think $250 is about right.

How did the lease look?

Any creeks, oaks, etc? $250 sounds good to me if there is some deer activity on it. Also, what else can you hunt (Hogs, squirrels, ducks, dove)?
