Try them on first.
Chippewas were too tight across the instep for me.
Justin snake boots fit great, but the smooth sole was a negative.
Took them to a shoe store and had a lugged Vibram sole put on and now they are my favorite boots to wear. Very comfortable, good grip, and have lasted for a few years.

I have a pair I bought for our ranch manager and they don't fit him...worn only a couple times. I think they are 10 or 10.5 - pm me if interested. I can get pics later today. Forget the brand, but they are very high quality that I'd sell super cheap.

would rather get them re soled but not sure where or how to do this. I've had plenty of shoes and boots resoled, and it's a great option if the uppers are in good shape. I looked on Google Maps and there are six shoe repair shops around Lubbock. Take the boots in and let the shoemaker look them over. If he can do it, resoling costs about half or a third what a new pair of boots will set you back, and you get boots good as new but are already broken in. Only downside is it can take a few weeks.

I agree with Harrier. I don't know any of the current shops in Lubbock. Last pair I resoled was in Amarillo and would not use him again.

I wear the 100% leather Chippewas year round. They don't bother me if it is 20 degrees or 100. Others might disagree but I like them. I should have bought another pair in case I wear these out.. Got them for $125 3 years ago at Justin outlet. I will give up a little comfort for convenience due to slip on/off. I can hike 5 miles in them and have no issues but I rarely get blisters unlike some.
If just need a re-sole, what have the cobblers around you said?

Suggest contacting Danner and see if they will resole them. They did a pair for me several years ago.
Don't talk the talk if you didn't walk the walk.

100% leather Chippewas-don't they get hot in the warmer temps? No. No laces and are loose on the calf. I wear with shorts all the time.

I even have the waterproof cordura upper/leather lower Chipps, and I didn't notice them to be any hotter than my previous gortex lace-up pair from Cabela's.

Chippewas are the popular, obvious answer. I personally find them highly uncomfortable and feel the Rocky and Danner brand feel better. But these were old Chippewas I bought on the 90's, maybe they are comfortable now ?

Already mentioned brands earlier in this post. Made the mistake of wearing jeans and casual street shoes this weekend. I'll be picking at these quills for at least a month. Snake boots. Wear them in the brush country. Always!
