I just picked up a 16" DPMS shoots 7.62/.308. Its a 1 in 10" twist. Anyone have one and have experience shooting 150-155gr ammo accurately? I have a Remmy 700 with a 20" barrel and 1 in 1o" twist that I shoot 168gr BTHP out of it but was wanting to go lighter on the ammo for the AR.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
MIKE

I ordered some ammo from Chad @ Dallas Custom Reloads. 165gr. SST's shoots pretty good in my DPMS ATAC.

I love the SST ammo. Will look into that thru Chad. I have ordered a bunch of stuff from him before. I think I use to get some 150 or 155gr AMAX for one of my old .308s and it loved them.

Go look in the ammunition section. I just finished load development for the exact same spec rifle with 155 TMK.

Know you said you wanted to go lighter but I helped a friend develop a load for Rem R25 with the 178 amax that is nails. His does have 18" barrel though.

Fireman, Are you selling them? I am mostly hunting hogs and yotes and my pastures I hunt are usually 200-400 yard shots. If you are selling them how much for 100 of them?

I don't know if it's legal for me to do that.
If you load your own, you're more than welcome to copy my load. If it is legal for me to sell ammo, we may could work something out.

I don't know. Why I said I don't know. Maybe no law exists prohibiting it. It would open me up for some liability, though. Even though they would be loaded perfectly, and consistent cartridge to cartridge.

I'm not looking to get anyone in hot water. I'm gonna try a few factory loads and see how it does.

I understand the liability angle but that's not part of the sale. I am not positive but I'm pretty sure that you need a license to manufacture ammo. That would include reloads and new hand loads. Selling factory ammo is fine as long as you didn't make it. I believe that even resizing something like .223 brass into .300 blackout brass and selling it is considered manufacturing ammo.
It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.
