Since I own 2/3 of the private land I hunt, and develop my wetlands- I would say that would make sense in leu of hunting next to sky busting idiots and getting up at 3:15am to beat some random red neck to the honey hole on lake X.......I know bla bla bla, everyone here who hunts public has "secret hole" that they have never seen another gun on........ I get it bro

To each his own

DRINK!!!

not sure what being a land baron has to do with ID'ing a jack from a teal

Hey Guy, any ducks in that mud flat you hunt on Cooper? I guess I could go out there and look for myself but given the state of our society, I feel entitled to know for free.

Check yes or no

I didn't hunt public until I moved to Texas. I hunted private land 100% of the time at home in Louisiana but the only draw back to that was I don't think I ever killed anything else besides wood ducks until I moved here and went public. So far mallards, GWT, gadwall, and coots when I get bored on the public hunt. I may see you @ Cooper in the second segment.......I've already got a lot of vacation lined up for the mid week hunt.....

you know, I gave up on those ways a while back...it came to in a dream, like a revelation. No man worth his salt would let someone else pay his way in life, so as long as I have a pair looks like I'll be a working man.

hard to respect a man that doesnt pull his weight, guess thats why I look down on private hunters clap

I didn't read all 27 pages but I just want to add that public land is the big leagues of duck hunting. All the nay Sayers just can't handle it. It takes more time/ work and knowledge. Those who understand ducks both where they want to be and how to call them will do well. Those who don't will say what they say.

It's lots of fun when it all comes together. It's just not for everyone.

Disagree totally.

More time work knowledge. No way- you obviously haven't managed several properties for water control, moist soil etc. it's a 365 day job

sure scouting and finding birds takes time- but owning/ managing multiple properties and being successful is a difficult task.

Were they want to be and calling are totally unrelated. Your create the right food and water mix- calling is for duck commander. A whistle and feeding mallard or drake call is about all we ever use.

The rest is for entertainment.

I guess it depends if your the property manager/owner....or the client.

I'll say this...if you have a boat and time to scout finding ducks ....if their in the area is not that complicated. Its just time consuming.
