That is one of the toughest things about a good retriever. So sorry to see that.
Chin up, remember the joy she brought you, and let go of the fact that she is not with you. She is no longer in pain, so you should not be either.

So sorry for your loss Guy. My favorite dog died under nearly identical circumstances. He had a tumor that we didn't even know about and it ruptured when he hopped out of the truck one morning. He was gone as soon as he got to the vet. Prayers sent your way.

Guy – I hope the sadness of your loss is soon replaced with the comfort that comes from a decade of unconditional love and lasting family memories a yellow dog named Molly helped make even more meaningful. Blessings to you and yours.

Thanks BM, that's one of my favorite pics, that was her first season hunting, she was 1 year old there, dove opener. I appreciate all the comments, I'll leave it with this last pic of my girl.

I won't lie and say this one didn't get my attention. I've got a black lab/border collie mix named Molly right now. I've wavered on training her to be a bird dog, but she is definitely my hunting/fishing companion, and I dread the day it heads that direction. My condolences.
Shot my first turkey today...Scared the crap out of everyone in the frozen food section, it was awesome!

Hate to hear that, I still miss Miley the dog I lost back in 2010 to a spinal injury. I have Abbi now and I got her about 2 months after Miley died. I have a strong bond with her too, but nothing like I had with Miley.........

I got home, she was disoriented, put her in the truck, and she stop breathing before I could get there. Doc said she had cancer, tumor on her spleen, it ruptured, and she bled internally. I been sitting in vet parking lot 30 minutes trying to gather my self to drive home, we were going to hunt tomorrow I took the day off. She was 10 years old, the best girl ever. RIP Molly.
Horrible- my prayers are with her. My dogs are like my kids. Hunting dogs are especially precious in our lives. Sure Molly had a great life Sorry for your loss
