Soak whole corn in diesel, mix in some jello packets if you want to, we usually dont but it works either way. Plus the coons will leave the corn alone.

lol...watch out for deer...came through madisonville at 5:20 yesterday and the fields were just loaded with deer on both sides of HW21. I would just use regular ol' corn.

We did a study in a 20 acre high fence with wild hogs. Corn soaked in apple juice, corn soaked in milk, corn with diesel, and plain corn. Our study shocked us when we found out that there was no preference. Now if I was just going for a night or two I would get some PIG OUT just to add for curiosity. Good luck.

diesel huh....didn't think we'd get that one, have heard of it. do i need to soak it for a couple of days or just pour it on top?
And I'm glad to hear ya seeing all the deer, we have a great number of deer on our place there and now that we've done some cooperative management with surrounding land owners they are getting to be great in Quality!
But for now I must focus on pigs.....

sorry...I didn't see any pigs for you to focus on during the trip. But did hit a little 100 lb boar at the madisonville city limit sign mid-jan... is asphalt an attractant???

Soak it in diesel for a few days, the longer the better. Old rice farmers around here taught us that when we were lil kids, guess it does pay to listen to your elders lol. Diesel will actually smell sweet to the pigs, used to catch them licking and rubbing on the tractors. We also used to create rubs for the pigs. We would find a place they frequent then hang a burlap sack soaked in old tractor oil. The pigs would use it as a rub regularly, again an old rice farmer trick!!

Well I am going to bait multiple locations, within range, and some on another place that we may drive around. I will try the Diesel for sure. and prolly some strait corn, I always heard to soak it in Malt Liquor...and grape cool aid.

Doesn't get any better than that. Jello is a waste of time I think. Corn + Deisel = Bacon

I'm not sure I'd want to eat a pig that I knew was eating diesel. I'd much rather eat one that I didn't know was eating roadkill and other pig's gut piles

Take some 6" PVC of any length. I have used them from 2 ft. to 10 ft. long. Glue the cap on 1 end and drill a hole for a piece of 3/8 all thread. Take a 10 inch piece of all thread washer and double nut the inside of the cap before you put it on. Drill 1 inch holes in the PVC at different intervals. Cap the other end and drill a hole thru cap and pvc. Slide cap on and use 10 in. piece of all thread to hold it on. Attach a chain to the all thread thru the glued cap. Wrap chain around tree and fill PVC with your magic feed. They will spend and entire night fighting over those holes to get to 20 lbs. of corn. I spread these out on ranches with creeks and rivers. You can shoot hogs on these almost every hour. They cannot stop coming. We bury them cover them with wood and everything else to make it harder for them to get to. Sour corn works great in these things but they eat the dirt so soon you wind up with a big hole.

that is an interesting technique, I like it and have an old PVC feeder that I could use to make a variation of what your talking about

We at 1 time had 20 of these set out. Some we staked out with t-posts, trees and chains. The idea we finished with was trial and error trying to outsmart them so they do not get the lids off and empty it quickly. The first of these we tried we just 3/4 buried in a marsh. 5 days later we came back and it was gone. We found it 5 months late quail hunting in another pasture 1 mile away.

I tried diesel and they didn't touch it. I guess the hogs around me are unleaded only. Yall have any idea why they wouldn't eat it? I just use soured corn and bury it deep.

the problem is in a 20 acre HF the corn is found every time, the idea here is to get pigs attention and get the to come to me...not really to feed them someting they like

We have had good luck with pig out. We would put it in the waller and they couldn't stand it. I killed 3 with a bow in a matter of 15 minutes. They just kept coming back.

Throw some cheap peppermint balls in with the corn.
