Very nice! I have a bavarian in 7x64 on order atm, can't wait for it.
Looks like a really light little gun. Bet it shoots like a dream.

I think in the end you will need to change scopes. The combination of a short tube length behind the bell and a 3.5 inch eye relief, with a standard length action, is not a formula for success. I know Minox has 4 inches of eye relief and a longer tube behind the bell.
for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype

Think you're right, I'll find just how great Europtics is when I need to exchange scopes

That's the Sako model that I like, too.
A nice looking firearm with quality written all over it.

Tried the extended Sako Optilock bases todsay, still , no Bueno, the Nightforces front tube section is just too dang short.
Could go to a rail and rings (yuck on this particular rifle), but will see if Europtics will exchange for another scope.

Hate it when the scope you want does not play well with the rifle. Hopefully they will swap it out for you and learn a lesson themselves on what scope works well with that rifle.

So envious. 6.5x55 is perfect for that Bavarian Carbine. Now you just need to load up some 155 grain Lapua Megas!

Mega is just old school. Opens easy but has a huge heel lock to keep it together.

UPDATE
The great folks at Europtics are going to let me exchange the Nightforce . Let me say this Nightforce SHV is a hell of a scope and I just wish it fit... I will either get a Swarovski Z-3, 2-12X50 or a Leica 2.5-10X42
Never owned a Leica but my Swarovski is a great scope.
Update as soon as I know which, get it mounted and shoot the dang thing.
That Mega looks mean !!!

50mm seems a bit big on a classy english style stalker like the one you have, IMO.
If it was me, I would look for an older 3X long tube leupold unless you're looking to do some long range stuff.

Love that little rifle.
I agree with the above please do not "overpower" it with a big ol' honkin' scope. Please. A 32-40mm objective in 2x7,3x9 or something similar is the max IMO. Preferably the lower end.
I learned long ago you can't reason someone out of something they don't reason themselves into.

The Leica would look pretty similar to the Nightforce except the longer tube will allow for a correct sight picture
for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype

Yep, I'm talking with Keefer in the am to decide. I do want at least 10X, just a "me" thing.
