I finally got around to mounting my son's scope on his rifle. It is a Savage 14. I bought the Burris universal base and the signature rings. I got it all installed and when I went to lay the Nikon Prostaff scope in the rings it would not fit. The distance between the rings is about 3/8inch too short for the scope. What are my options? I was thinking about trying another base but I do not want to have the same problem. I hope I can return the rings and mounts. Thanks

See if you can reverse the rear mount! I have done that several times when I run into that problem!

I just looked at it and it may work. I am going to put it on and see how it looks in the morning.

Well guys thanks for the info. I put it on today and it worked. I did not have any room to spare but at least I was not out the 60 bucks for the mounts and rings. Now I just got to get the bad boy to the range and sight it in.
