It lived in the truck he whole trip. After that first day at 13 miles, we were taking as much out of our packs as we could.  Tried tell'n y'all that, somethings you just have to learn  More importantly overall though, any land prospects for PMK to purchase??? Not yet... He did say he fell in love with the Dolores area, so who knows? Hey may end up going up sometime over the summer with my mom and find a little vacation get away place

There were several places for sale. I don't know what they're waiting for.
There was an inn for sale. They didn't even want a full million for it. Seemed like a steal to me, and lots of room for hunters.

No kills. I slowed one down, but not enough to catch him. Sneaky, that makes me feel bad, I had a "care package" ready to mail to you up there, but didn't have a spot UPS would deliver  Care package had a pair of running shoes and a salt shaker......

Man. That's a lot of miles and hours and no kill. Way to be sporty. I love it!  One day, dunno when (probably after I have enough gas money/gear and am 18), I'll do this hunt with y'all. Sounds like a blast, even if no kills and I didn't read the whole thread

In shape? That I am working on, but not towards hunting. I can pretty much do anything hunting related as is. Then again, I haven't elk hunted for real. So maybe you're right.  Thanks anyway.

I'm sure you can handle yourself just fine. Better than most, anyway. It's just hard to imagine until you do it, especially the places we go. Nothing you can do prepares you for the altitude. That's the biggest kicker. Throw in some nasty, steep country, and it's like nothing else I know. But you're young and active. Do it as soon as you can.
