26 Nosler that I haven't even seen yet. It's being built by Alamo Precision Rifles and should be done in the next week or so.

I'll either use a Rem Model 700 ADL in 7mm Rem Mag that I've been using since I was 14 or a Rem Model 700 Classic in 6.5x55 Swedish. Neither are fancy rigs but they work. Any misses are my fault and not theirs. Or maybe I'll break out my Mannlicher Schoenauer Model 1903 in 6.5x54MS. It hasn't been in the field in a long time. Last time it was carried it worked out this way:

My trusty Browning A bolt 270 that I've used since I was 15ish and on ocassion my Hiowa 308 with Vortex 9-24 power scope and as always my 1911 in 45 on my side. After the real season I don't generally hunt I could care less about does and spikes but I take my friends kid hunting because his dad is blind and during that time I take one of my AR15's.

Recently got a gym membership, strange folks! I like to show up the roid zombies with my full motion curls with the 55lb. bells. Not their cheater short stroked light weights. It's holarious.

Remington 700 30-06 Same gun I've used since I bought it at Best products in the summer of 1983. Anyone remember them?
Have a 700 SPS .243 I bought several years ago for my youngest son that's fun to tote around too.
Neither gun has a scope that cost more than $150.
I don't begrudge anyone that feels the need to spend big money on some of the tricked up rigs I see or hear about these days. I've yet to see how those things will vastly improve my ability to take down north American game (as a general rule).

Either the same old 30.06 or Mod 99 .308 I've been using for 35 or 40 years or so. Might break out the Marlins later in the season. Just may take the camera & not shoot anything. Got to check the freezer! I'm just not mad at the deer anymore......

Since I took over my Dad's Mini 30 I've needed to take a deer every year with it so that may be my opening weekend doe. But my new toy this year is the Colt 901 (.308) topped with a Meopta scope, and someday I'm gonna take Fireman JG's class to learn how to use the dern thing.

The "fancy" for me are my Easton Full Metal Jacket arrows. I think they're $120 per half dozen, but worth every penny IMO.

CZ/FS/550 in 6.5x55 under a Nikon 3-9x40 BDC. If I get bored, unlikely,Ill get its big bro out, CZ 550 American 30-06,yet agin under a Nikon 3-9x40 BDC(I like those scopes). Im using some old but deadly TBBC 140 grain molly in the 6.5x55 its 2 for 2 on bucks! For the 30-06 the old style Winchester Silvertips(not the ballistic tips) 180 grains! Ive owned Remington's,Winchesters,Browning and Savage but let me state ...that CZ makes fine rifles that'll shoot with the best of them for about $200 less. I love the set triggers on them as well!
The way things should be are not often the way things are.....
