Guess they know now. I drove past McKinney store an 2 hours ago heading to lowes. The doors and windows were covered with paper to keep from seeing inside and a for lease/sale sign in window
Serves em right. Be great if an individual would put in a quality shop that stocks loading supplies. Southwest ammo in Mesquite and Ray's hardware are about as close as I know f in this area. Miss Sportsmans Warehouse that was in Louisville had the most reloading stuff i have seen in Dallas but they are long gone

Waaay too much concrete between me and those places. McKinney is do-able, but we got nuthin. Cabela's in Allen is the only decent brick and morter store I can go to. Most of the time I have to order what I want and wait on the brown truck.

I've heard Bachman Pawn & Gun gave up their FFL and are walking away from the gun business, but have not confirmed it.
In regards to CTD, they adjusted their prices for the market at the time, and imagine if they hadn't screwed everyone who already had orders in before the price changes the damage would not have been as bad. The same people I saw complaining about the high prices were buying everything they could at the normal prices and turning around and reselling them for large profits. I stood there and watched Gander Mountain sell some poor lady an M1A for $4000 in Spring, TX...

She must not have been that poor spending 4 grand on something like that. The term "more money than sense" comes to mind...

I feel bad if it was a franchisee and not a corporate store. If corporate, sorry the employees lost their jobs, but not sorry the company took a hit. They can rot.

So great to see this!!!!!! It tells me that while CTD may be able to get people from other states to bend over for them through their internet sales, Texas gun owners will just flip them the finger instead.
Adios CTD!!!! Hope the whole company crumbles from the top on down!

Anytime a gun store goes out of business it is bad for hunters and shooters. Not this time! Anytime a gun store treats hunters and shooters the way they treated me and many others its bad for business.

Anytime a gun store goes out of business it is bad for hunters and shooters. Normally I'd agree, but CTD made poor decision's. Reputation, customer service and competitive pricing are paramount. They failed on all three.

Apparently everyone that did not like them had previous business dealing with them. They treated me right, good prices and when they were too high I shopped elsewhere. JMO. I remember when people in 3rd world countries were happy to get the chance to buy a potato even if it was rotten because there was not another store to spend your money because there was nothing.
So many people complain about how Walmart ran the little merchant out. Spears Gun Shop on Travis Street went out of business because his prices were high, but I preferred buying powder from him for $5 more per can than driving to Allen and then finding Cabelas didn't have the powder. Some people don't live or work close enough to Walmart to stop by every day hoping to find some 22 ammo. I wil always prefer to have a choice and free market, other wise I might as well go live in a country where there is only one doctor and one medicine.

I recall a post several years ago by a person who felt they were slighted by a sales clerk at Cabelas but apparently continued to shop there, just avoiding that certain clerk.

I like Walmart just fine. It's the other shoppers I have a problem with. And that screaming kid! There's always the screaming kid. And not the wet diaper scream, or the I'm sick and uncomfortable scream. It's always the I need my bottom lit up, but my parent hasn't got a clue how to discipline me and anyway he/she is just a kid himself/herself scream.

They still have their internet-based business. Lots of folks out there still using them, otherwise that'd be history as well.
The free market decides who stays in business and who doesn't.
It certainly appears to have occurred in this case.

The last time I stopped in the McKinney store I saw a brick of 22s for $119.99
I suppose they could have been magical bullets but I didn't ask. Much like Jack's magic beans perhaps.

Bachman Gun and Pawn is shutting their doors.
CTD retail location in Ft Worth was shut down by the ATF for a violation so re-opened as Ft Worth Guns. Don't know 100% if that is true but my source would be in position to know and has no reason to make it up.
Don’t roll those bloodshot eyes at me.
