I hate agreeing with redchebby when he's spewing his Ford sheet but I can't help it this time I just traded my 2012 F150 FX4 Screw ecoboost in...He's right on the fuel mileage. No way in hell someone is pulling a 21ft boat and getting 17. When I pulled a 2 seat Polaris Ranger on a 12ft BigTex single axle trailer I would get 9-10 if I ran 80-85 and I would get 11-12 if I kept it around 70. Good luck...I am a Ford guy and for the first time in over 10 years I'm driving something else but given the two you listed I'd pick the F150 everytime. Good luck!

Go with the truck. Ive been without a truck for nearly two years now and I want one again so bad I can't hardly stand it. I hate having to borrow someone else's truck to do stuff and lately Ive had to do it a lot. Id much rather have my own.

My wife and I are having the same discussion between truck and SUV. I asked her if she was OK with me throwing a dead animal in the back of an SUV. We are looking at trucks.

I had a Tacoma, then I put a cover on back so stuff didn't get so dusty or wet. Then I got a Sierra Z71 crew to haul more stuff. Now I wish I could keep some stuff in it between hunts and am thinking about a SUV.
I need to tow a Ranger on a tandem trailer so smaller SUV's are out of the question.
That said, I keep looking at my wife's Subaru Forester and thinking that, with mud tires....hmmm. Then I wouldn't need the Ranger.
Subaru's AWD is phenomenal. You have to try to make them slip. And like an earlier poster said, their resale is among the highest in the industry.
If you can't find any reason not to, go with the Subaru. Ours gets 25+ MPG around town, 34+ on the road and will go anywhere you point it. Last year, we drove from Eastland County to Dallas 140 miles on solid ice and had to leave the highway several times to go around those who couldn't get up the hills.

F150. Or u can get an Expedition. Imy 97 EXP 4x4 has 190k on the clock. U can find a lightly used EXP w a 5.0. Pay attention to the differential gearing. Your application doesn't need 4:11s or 3:73s. 3:55 max. TC
