 Garage door repair.

Had my garage door quit on me and finally decided to tear into and see what might be wrong. Found one of the gears completely trashed. Looked online and parts were pretty cheap but turned out a coworker had a spare one that I could use. Watched a youtube video and looked pretty easy to replace. All replaced and put back together. Works great.

That's a sears or chamberlen garage door opener. I have repaired mine and my neighbors before. Plastic does not seem to be the best material.

Good job. Not impressed by plastic gears. Planned obselessance . And they're almost all that way. I've replaced 100's of these in the apartments. Crazy how much they charge to come out and do it for you too. Just buy the part and take 5 minutes. Good job OP

My understanding of cause of gear fail is door adjustment. A garage door should raise with one hand and balance partally open at any point of travel.
If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

Had the pleasure of installing my parents last garage door. Not something I look forward to doing again. Cheap fixes are the best

Garage doors scare me. I got a couple of great guys that do my garage door work. They even bill me.
