A guy at work showed me a picture today of a big mountain lion supposedly killed just east of Liberty Hill last night. Anybody on here know if there's any truth to it?

If its a pic he just randomly saw on the internet, 99.9% its fake. Well....not fake, but Im betting that lion will have been killed in about 30 different places, know what I mean?

my bro in law talked to a Williamson county GW about a large male mountain lion that was hit by a car and killed on hwy 29 about a mile east of Seward Junction (just east of Liberty Hill) but that's been at least 10 years ago. I do not recall ever seeing a picture of it though. The story went that a car hit it as it was crossing the highway but didn't stop, a pickup following the car saw it happen, stopped and called the GW.

well howdy neighbor! I live about 7-8 miles east of there on hwy 29. My bro in law used to have a place on hwy 29 behind the propane/Stihl dealer close to Cimarron Hills.
where did you see a picture of the cat?

I had my doubts about the pic but figured I'd ask on here since I knew some of y'all reside in this area. Btw, PMK it sounds like I'm only a few miles away from you. I live about five miles north of G'town

I would be surprised if it was not off the net somewhere. There are a few around but not many.

2 stories, 10 years ago in austin just off of 183 & 19th/Johnny Morris one of the operator pulled up to a 8X10 sampling station one cold wet morning. The door was always left open as the operator went to open the door he looked in the shed and a mountain lion was looking back at him, he chose to come back later. The next day I was told about the sighting and I thought it was BS. I went back there with another operator and did see the tracks. While I did not see the lions I did see the tracts and as the operator who saw the cat later told me "at 10 feet it's kinda hard to misidentify a mountain lion. We also had hogs and deer back there all the time. They have been seen here around Georgetown several times and I have seen one in northwestern Blanco county. My point is the run the creeks and rivers and just because we don't see them regularly does't mean they aren't out there. What I want to know though is: dustin what did the guy that roped the mt. lion do with it after he caught it?
