It was my understanding horses did not meet the requirements for ag exemption, maybe your county is different.
I would suggest finding a lease. Depends on what you have. If you are actively breeding mares then yes. If you have a couple of geldings then no.

Rosharon south of Houston have several 10 acre lot
My friend lives there, he sees deer and hogs in his neighborhood (which has no hunting policy ) I saw a 10 pt eating grass in front of his neighbor's house
Stay on the outside of HOA communities and I think you can hunt Where I am at you need at least 10 acre to dove hunt
get a piece of land, it's a lot more enjoyable than getting a lease

Raising horses doesn't count. You also have to sell them. Many horse related activities do not qualify. Training, boarding, pleasure related activities do not count. However, if the land is primarily used for the breeding of mares and sale of foals it does qualify.

You can raise exotics but you have to sell them to other ranches for it to qualify as AG taxes. Same for horses you have to breed and sell them to qualify.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?
