I like where I live but I like these counties for hunting.

Back in the late 80's to mid 90's my dad and I leased the Wigginton ranch in McCulloch County. That ranch has a phenomenal deer herd with outstanding bucks.
Boy I miss hunting that ranch bang

I will put in another vote for McCulloch County. I had a lease in Voca 10 miles south of Brady from 2011-2013. It was the best lease I have ever been on. Great deer numbers and quality. We killed nice bucks all three years even with the drought in 2011. Good hog population as well as dove and quail. Turkey were scarce during drought year but plenty in 2012-2013. Great hunting county.

Lol yeah I wouldn't want to live there but for hunting it's hard to beat

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Yes sir... It was Jacks land but we dealt directly with Burl and Hunter. Both these men are good guys.
We leased the 3000 acre ranch east of the Court house.

That land is almost all HF now except for the creek portion. I hunt with Burl now and with Hunter one season in West Texas. They are really nice guys.

They HF it the last year we were on it. We started the game management grogram on the ranch the years prior to the HF. It is my understanding that they have trophy hunts on the HF portion of the ranch.
Burl and Hunter used to hunt the RockerB not sure if they still do confused2
Does Burl hunt with you in South Texas or out West?

Hill Country is the best for volume of deer

I have land in Comanche and I am pretty happy with the variety of game there
deer, turkeys, doves (include the larger euro doves ), ducks, hogs, bobcats, foxes

Yes they do hunts on the HF part. I believe they lease out one portion of it that is not totally HF still. I have hunted with Burl for 8 yrs now in West Texas for Mule Deer in Pecos County.

No deer in the panhandle. Just thousands of DFW hunters. bang

I've never even heard of hunt county being a big buck mecca.

Because nobody can kill them, they are all just game camera ghosts, we can't even really prove they are real

Just means the locals and the hunters there have done good at keeping their mouth shut. Two best places for a deer over 200" in Texas, if not North America would shock most people.

since they dumped them out of cattle trailers driving down the road...you may have helped wrangle a few, and we thank you.

edit: im actually about 10-15 years late for the great drop off, but you were probably still growin' bigguns then too, and we thank you.
