I used a one piece mount on mine. You've got a better chance of good alignment with a one piece. No guarantee, but a better chance anyway. My one piece came off ebay from china and has quick dismounts, but it is a pretty good one in spite of it's source.

ya i got my upper in today after holding the scope up to the gun looks like the burrius pepr forward mount will most likely be the route i go i didnt realize how long the scope was.seems like for closer eye relief it would be better allowing you to get down on the gun and avoid to far the back feel and look

Guy just took a nice female coyote at 241 yards with a doubled Photon and T20 ir at 50% power.

Very impressive night time performance!!!

I figure he has less than 1k tied up in equipment

That's the reason I got this one for my father cause he's challenged with technology.
But I think im going to get one for my self just cause how simple it is and I figure it will work great on my rimfire. And hopefully ATN gets everything taken care of for my X-Sight.

Remember on videos from the PhotonXT, that the brightness setting the user selects on the near eye display is not transmitted to the video output so not all videos you find on Y-tube or elsewhere truly represent the capability of this entry level digital scope.

Here is a link that shows the measurements of the mount www.burrisoptics.com/arpepr.html. My idea is to use the upper picatinny rails to mout my IR torch.

Here is a pic of a Photon XT with a PEPR mount I found on Texasbowhunter.com from Ecoboost

Looks like a perfect fit.

I like the idea of using the top picatinny rails for mounting the IR Illuminator. Not sure if this would work or what the drawbacks would be, but maybe a riser and high ring combo?

It would definitely require using a feeler gauge to mount the scope rings even. I recon I'd do it by torquing one side down first with the feeler gauge between in the ring split then torque the opposite side down to release the gauge(s). Looking at other digital mounts that come from the manufacturer it appears the mount is reversed from normal moving the scope back due to the limited eye relief, but other than that??

Example of how they seem to use the reverse of a normal AR15 mount to position the scope to compensate for the shorter eye relief:

UTG 1-Inch High 13-slot Hi-profile Full Size Riser Mount

Weaver 30mm x-high rings

The 2nd or 4th selection. PEPR. The QD mount is preferred, but not absolutely neccesary.

Hope this helps. up
