Is it just me, or have you guys been seeing a lot of bobcats this past couple of years? I hunted four different properties last week at night around the Sweetwater area and have called in ten different bobcats; killed six. The ironic thing is, we have only called in two coyotes. We are now starting to pass up on cats and wait for coyotes to come in; it used to be the opposite.

What has the drought done to the area?

Maybe you can see 'em better, cuz there ain't no grass, & brush for 'em to hind in?

Maybe the drought has out look'n for food more?

Just a couple of suggestions,

Maybe looking for more food, however seeing eyes in tall grass and brush at night has never been a problem. It does make a ton a difference in the day though.

Mark, I went out to Sweetwater calling about a month ago and called in a ton of animals. We called probably 10 cats and 20 or so coyotes. A lot of the cats we called were in pairs and on one call had 3 come in. I will be coming out that direction the first weekend of March for the last Graham hunt of the year! But to answer your question about more cats this year, yes, I personally have called a lot more cats in this year than in the past few.

Jack rabbit and cottontail mouth calls.
Woodpecker electronic call; which is the greatest of all time!
