I got nothing, I've never been able to get them tender and only a few places I've ate do them justice.

They have plenty of fat, low and slow should be able to get them tender enough for a toothless person to eat. Only way I have ever cooked them was on the pit.
It's hell eatin em live

X2, always on the pit with mesquite wood. Never cooked them in a Crock Pot so I'm no help.

you need to trim the fat if theres a lot on them so they arent just saturated in grease.....just season them how you want to and then put them in on whatever your hig heat is for a few hours then put it on medium to finish them off they'll turn ouut good

ok boys. Heres how to cook the best ribs in your life. Thank me later. 2 racks baby back ribs 4 cloves garlic, sliced 1 Tablespoon white sugar 1 T paprika 2 teaspoon salt 2 t black pepper 2 t chili powder 2 t ground cumin 1 bottle head country BBQ
preheat oven to 300. Take casing off of ribs. place on shallow roasting pan. scatter 4 cloves of garlic over ribs and cover tightly with foil. Cook for 2 1/2 hrs, ribs should try to come off the bone when you lift. almost falling apart. let cool slightly. mix all the ingredients together and rub all over ribs. cover and refrigerate over night or until event. put them on the smoker for 20 min or so basting with sauce. best ribs of your life..

sounds pretty good caveman, but the OP was asking about BEEF RIBS my wife does in a crockpot from time to time that are very tender. She just puts crock pot liner, black pepper, garlic & onion powder and a cup of water with a beef bullion cube, turn on low for 8-12 hours ... tender beef ribs while you are at work. I prefer to smoke them for a few hours, low and slow, then her put in the crockpot to actually cook (lazy side of me).

forget the oven..... get a big pot or kettle boil them with a ton of pepper. I mean a whole can of black pepper. Once you have them this way you wont go back to the oven.

He's talking beef short ribs or back ribs. Not a standing rib roast. I hope. Back ribs deserve a smoker, short ribs are good in the crock pot. I'd go Asian short ribs with some white rice on the side. http://rikishore.com/2011/11/asian-spiced-braised-beef-short-ribs/add 1/2 cup of hoisin

I like to use them in beef soups and stews. Or just braised like you would an oxtail. Great gravy makers!
