Well I had my baby Springer out at the grasslands today with our training group. Even though she is almost a year old I have only had her for 3 months. Most of that time I was pretty sick. I was able to work with her in the yard for 20 min. a day and it seemed to pay off.
She quartered like a cheeta whit it's tail on fire, flushed pigeons like a pro and even made a retrieve on a wounded bird at over 100 yds. Then brought them all to hand.

At 12:00 1/12/09 Durty Dolly will be 1 year old.
Happy Birthday baby girl.

Nice pic! Looks like she's just daring you to take her toy.

I would agree with you, but then I would be wrong too.

She carries that stupid thing everywhere. I think it's supposed to be a otter or something like that. She is very proud of it

There was a discussion about dogs on this part of the forum. I am of the belief that ugly dogs are better bird dogs. Poor Durrty Dolly is not very attractive to say the least. And I will say she is well on her way to being one of the best Springers I have ever seen!

She is so ugly she has been confused with a skinny Border Collie

You could not ask for a more loyal and loving bird dog. But be honest have you ever seen an ugly bird dog that was bad?
Most all the ugly dogs I have ever seen are some of the best bird finding, retrieving, swimming, pointing Machines.
I guess there may be some bad ones out there but I haven't seen them.
I just had her out today and I hid pigeons for her. Field had great cover, she didn't pass one bird up nor did she miss a single one.
I'm tellin you it's the ugly thing.

I don't think she is ugly at all. Beautiful is more like it. Like those choc springers so much that we got a choc cocker that my wife just had to have Not much of a bird dog though but she sure don't like'em in her yard haha

Believe it or not the only brown she has is on the head and a spot on the rump. Not many people realize that Springers and cockers have almost had their instincts bred out of them. Durty Dolly is a field bred and has relatives in the bird dog hall of fame. At just a year old she continues to amaze me almost every day
