Just arrived to the lease weather I wish was cold but I'll take what we can get nothing hunting and telling stories from back in our corps days, a buddy of mine is down from his police work for Houston pd he comes down this time every year for alittle R&R and hoping to get a nice buck. Been looking at the weather reports calling for drizzle and rain in the am but that will not stop us bucks were pushing does on Monday so the rut is kicking into gear in our area just hoping he can seal the deal on a nice mature 8pt with at least a 21 inch spread with good mass, but like he told he's just to drink some beer, hunt and relax. Will keep everyone posted of our progress. SEMPER FI!!##

Well slow evening small 6pts, and two doe's, anyone else around south texas area slow also this warm temps is killing us. When the temps were cooler couple days ago the deer were moving good, seems like we only get the good cold snaps when the season is pretty much up, I wish tpwd would extend till Feb. Till tomorrow everyone have a good evening

Well nothing is more heart dropping when you see a big 12pt pushing a doe around 1/2 a mile from our lease in a neighbors oat field.

I'd be on stand as much as possible with a buck like that in the area, when one of your does comes into heat that guy could very possibly come around. You've got a chance, good luck!

Very disappointed with this season so far, I really things change soon, my buddy and I both came home empty handed and I hate he went back to Houston with no meat, he'll be back after the holidays, all I want for Christmas is an artic blast.

I hunt in pretty much the general area you do and I've been on our lease for the last five seasons. Rut has always been underway during this time, and so far this year I haven't seen but just a few young bucks pushing does same as you mentioned. It's just a matter of being out there at the right time, and so far it seems as though I haven't been.

Hey what's going on jimbo so your having the same luck I am at least I know it's just not our place, I'm also on the texas fishing forum I usually start the white bass thread for the nueces so what do you think will the run be even better this year, checked out the river level at airport the level is still good for a small John boat or kayak which I use, anyways good luck with the rest of the season hopefully our luck changes and see you on the river.

Yep, it's been a strange year so far, and so much that I'm already starting to get the itch of wanting to hit the Nueces. Right now with the holidays and being my wifes gofer my hunting days are whenever I can sneak away. Probably will hit the river shortly after New Years especially if we keep having these mild spring like days. Nueces should be good this year, and can't wait! Good luck to you also and we'll see you on the river!

Well jimbo, let me tell the story So I arrive at the lease early to get in the blind and Get a jumpstart on early movement any ways at 230 a nice mature buck was roaming around about 250yrds out in the drs field who is our neighbor and does not hunt. At 440 our feeders go off and the evening is looking awesome deer were moving everywhere and then I start hearing a thumping sound and loud music playing that rap cap, then bam bam bam bam deer scatter everywhere I knew my hunt was over at this point I am furious cause I wasted my day and gas money coming from Beeville to have it ruined by the drs meth head dumb a## son we have this problem every year with this terd. So I walk back to my truck haul butt to the front gate and terd is still shooting I know he's doing it on purpose. I'm one passed off marine so I grab by sks with a 30 rd clip and let loose every round it worked I ceased his shooting and his music I leave the lease and stop right in front of their entrance and the terds run inside. END OF HUNT AT HOME DRINKING SOME TEXAS RESERVE WHISKEY

END OF HUNT AT HOME DRINKING SOME TEXAS RESERVE WHISKEY Way to go! Hopefully he got the message, and that is you had enough of his stupid antics. I like to think it's so anyway but probably not. They're brains are so fried they lack any power to reason whatsoever. I went this morning and it was a perfect morning. Seems the wind blew all night and finally laid at daybreak and the deer were moving really well. Saw more deer than I could count and probably a lot of them were the same deer, but the bucks were out looking for does. No hard chasing, just a lot of looking and sniffing around. Saw a couple of mature bucks maybe in the 4 1/2 year old range but nothing to my likeing. Just haven't seen anything so far this year that gets me excited. Oh well, still a few days to go! Hope you get a big one!
