Some might take offense to my comments, but it's good to see a "first real buck" taken by a kid at an age that reflects him/her having spent many seasons earning the opportunity through hard work and dedication to the sport. I don't hold anything against someone that puts their kid on a big deer at a young age, people are different on this sort of thing so to each their own I respect that. Me personally, I like to see a kid work their way up and my kids have definitely put their time in so yesterday was pretty rewarding. This buck is no monster but a trophy right now to the both of us

Nice!
I had my old chevy loaded down like that more times than I can count. Max out the tire pressure and roll on. Put about 3200 lbs in my old one not counting the pasengers and drove from SA to Hebronville, truck road like a cadilac! My poor old truck, I load it down like this once a month. No wonder why it's been in the shop a lot lately Just had an oil pump put in it last week and had rear chassis bushings replaced just before that along with a few other things. 211,000 miles and still slinging mud but I do need more truck, I haul some heavy loads. My 20' flatbed empty squats my truck, when I load it down yep rides like a Cadillac you don't feel bumps or holes in the front end My boy doesn't know it yet, but he is fixing to be handed the keys to that truck. I just have to get it camo wrapped first

Nice buck for your son! Good story too.
Do you know how far the buck went with that shot placement?

Do you know how far the buck went with that shot placement? He never took a step, dropped like a stone.
