lets talk about it.
what are your thoughts?
to the people that own them....how do you like it?

Hard to not like. I will say this-because it uses a smaller projectile and is screaming fast, a well-constructed bullet is a must for deer IMO.

Had one back in late 80's. Fellow made me an offer on a trade that I wanted. Good caliber. My thoughts are if you drive a Maserati and fly an MU2, then you really need a 257 W. Otherwise a 260 should suffice. But as we know, some people insist on driving a diesel 4x4 truck when they never get on a dirt road. JMHO

I have shot a 257 WBY quite often. It was the only Whitetail rifle I used for about five years, 91-96. I have been moved on to other things but still come back to it from time to time and enjoy it. The Accumark sits at our ranch in Runnels county, and accounts for a deer or two every year,by friends and family. I pick it up from time to time to shoot a coyote or to hunt a pig with. My wife has shot a 257 extensively. She has a Blaser R93, and that happens to be her favorite barrel. She has taken quite a few African species with that rifle up to the size of kudu and Gemsbok, and never had any issues. We use a 115 grain bonded core bullet and have never had any issues.

I recently purchased a rifle in 257. I have not had the opportunity to go to the range yet with it, but hope to very soon. I purchased 110 grain Nosler Accubond bullets to go with it.

I've hot 2, love them both but almost never take them out of the safe, only for a good wipe down. They have sentimental value and replacement cost is more then I can afford. Both are Weatherby MK V in a high grade wood stock. Heavy engraving lets you know what each gun was intended for (pronghorn and prairie dogs).

Well, I joined the .257 Roy club today.
Gun seems to like the 110 grain accubonds

It's a helluva coyote caliber for sure!!! Some might say over kill, but I say it's just the right amount!

I have wanted a Mark V since I was a little kid. I had an opportunity to buy a mark V deluxe many years ago and I passed it up and have been kicking myself since Being able to buy this rifle has been a dream and a blessing

Congrats on the new rig.
I have to agree with Roy W it is my favorite of all the Wby line, it will do very well on critters up to elk size for sure and those 110 accubonds are a good match for it on critters large and small.

Had one in a weatherby sub moa and loved it. Wouldn't mind one in a lazermark.

Great rifle! Congrats!
(I wouldn't shoot an elk with it though. Physics, you know...)
