First time to post. I hunt between Clay and Sommerville in what is called the bottom. Seeing lots of young bucks chasing, no real mature bucks yet.
My questions are: When does the rut end in my area ?
Is there a second noticable rut ?
Thanks

I hunt near Dime Box and the rut starts getting good typically next week. thru Thanksgiving is what I have seen the past few years. Will be tough hunting though with the acorns as heavy in the trees right now. I do not have any scrapes yet on my property yet which is my first sign. We do have a second rut the first 3 weeks of January as I had seen some good bucks chasing the last week end just not on my property. had several small fawns with spots late august this year. May have to get a Muzzle loader for the xtended season this year as my opportunities this year have been changed with other obligations.

I used to be in Burleson County near Deanville and I always noticed the rut early in November. Have a buddy that actually bought my old place and he was out opening weekend and the rut wasn't on, but the bucks were starting to bother the does a little bit.

I'm in the Lexington area, rut is going full swing this week. Have seen several mature bucks chasing does that we have never seen.

Thanks all for the replies.
Glad to hear I may still have a chance at a Big Boy.
Have a few mature ones on camera, but they are still nocturnal.
Plan to be out there as much as I can.
