If I went the snake boot route, what might you suggest? Must be waterproof.

After seeing plenty of snakes this weekend, I'm now going snake resistant. Leaning towards the lacrosse mudlite? Anyone use them? Or any others I should consider.

See lots of those but to me they don't look very water resistant

See lots of those but to me they don't look very water resistant Chipps tend to be of high quality, so if a pair is advertised as waterproof, I'd probably take it to the bank.

Bought a pair of LaCrosse a couple of years ago. Keep me warm and dry and very comfortable. LaCrosse Aeroheads here.

Muck boots with snake gaiters.

Ordered a pair of lacrosse mudlite but they are not gonna work. Size that fits doesn't exist. Either way to big or way to tight. I went that way being waterproof and a pull on but now I'm back to square one.

I got sick of spending lots and getting little in hunting boots. For ME, most don't fit and generally I don't expect to find any that will because I have a high arch and a narrow foot. The closest I've come to being happy is with the old style Danner Pronghorn. Waterproof no matter what, and pretty comfortable with the right insole. It was when I went shopping for hiking boots that I realized what I was missing! $150-200 buys more when it's about getting there and back only (I guess). So now I use Vasque Wasatch boots and if I'm worried about snakes I'll use my old snake chaps. The same chaps I always hated till I bought a pair of snake boots! I'd rather hate $30 snake chaps that work than $200 snake boots that sit in the hunting closet! Your mileage WILL vary! Each foot is different!

I have a pair and they are as advertised. Waterproof, comfortable (you gotta break 'em in, though.) and tough. This is my first pair of them and they won't be my last. I don't go to the ranch without them.

I have had a set of Russell Prickly Pear bird shooters for 5 years--and have been a Russell customer a lot longer than that. I hunt often and have had them re- soled once. They are expensive no doubt, but if you have to replace them every 2 years and they are $100ish each then it's a wash. Great quality and service from Russell. They are made in the USA, and have nice custom options. I just took them off as I just got in from our place in Vanderpool. We also have a ranch in between San Angelo and Abilene, and one place by Kenedy Texas. This time of year I never go without snake boots, and these are truly some of the best. My grandfather always told me " invest in your feet and they will take you places" he has been right. http://www.russellmoccasin.com/russell-prickly-pear-birdshooter/

I'm a Danners fan, but I always get what feels the best on my feet and can do what I want them to do. In this case , protect my feet, and ankles, plus keep the toes warm.
What's the best for you,,,,,,
